M D.A.R. Martha Carroll, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Carroll, of Brimfield, has been chosen by the faculty to receive the D.A.R. Award. Martha was selected because of her high standards, leadership, abilities, initiative, and her service to her class and school. In addition to these qualities, she has maintained exceptionally high grades throughout all four years of high school. She is a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Brimfield, a member of the National Honor Society, a member of the Quill and Scroll, and editor of the yearbook. This year we entered the halls of B.H.S. for the last time. Most of as could not believe that we were already seniors, although, we kept saying we couldn't wait to get out of school. The year was filled with tests and plans for the future. Many planned to go to college, nurses training, or into the service. The Chieftain staff was picked right away, and pictures for the yearbook were taken. Plans for the senior trip were discussed--especially the money problems. The F.H.A. girls enjoyed their trip to Chicago in December, and the F.F.A. boys will never forget their trip to Kansas City in October. Martha Carroll and Sam Nelson were chosen for the DAR and Good Citizenship awards. Terry Dungan and Ronnie Johnston were candidates for the Winter Wonderland Ball. Everyone was very excited when Ronnie was elected King. Our ham dinner was a profitable success, as well as the Chieftain Review. Our play was given in April, and we attended the prom in May as guests of the juniors. Then, after four long, unforgettable years, on May 29, 1963, WE GRADUATED. This boy is going places, but where we don't know. ROGER SOLLENBERGER Louie If you ever want to know an anything, ask Louie; if you don't, he'll tell you anyway. SARA SMITH Sally She looks like an angel, she acts like one too, but you never can tell what angels will do. LINDA WALLACE Louise I wish I understood the human race. GARY SYMONDS Lancelot This boy has an idea!

GOOD CITIZENSHIP AWARD The faculty has selected Samuel Nelson Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Nelson, as the recipient of the annual Good Citizenship Award. Sam was selected because of his high scholastic standing, good conduct, sportsmanship, and integrity. He attends the Brimfield Union Church, and he is a member of the National Honor Society and Quill and Scroll. He displayed enthusiasm in everything he undertook. His friendliness and cooperation have made him worthy of this award. For these reasons, he is one of the outstanding citizens of Brimfield High School.
