Eleanor Shaffer Secretary.......Mary Ann Schelkopf Treasurer .... Keith Rasey Reporter........Jim Claybaugh This was the fourth year of the Student Council in Brimfield High School. Its purpose was to represent the student body in matters relating directly to the students and to co-operate in the development of efficient operations of the school. The Student Council met approximately every two weeks. In addition to discussing requests for approvals of dates for activities, they printed programs for the home basketball games, displayed'a poster on sportsmanship in the gym, sold ice cream, sponsored a Student of the Month and a Citizenship Award. The Student Council established the Student Court to better develop a constructive and respectful spirit in each student at Brimfield. 24

Mrs. Rocke Publication Advisor . . Mr. Linn Our school paper, the POW WOW, was published every two weeks. In addition to filling our 120 subscriptions, each high school teacher was also given a copy. As a method of gaining new ideas, we exchanged our paper with 20 other schools. All staff members had to maintain A's, B's, and C's. Members who failed to meet this standard were given 6 weeks probation. Editorials could be written by any reader; however, editorials were assigned to students who failed to meet their news deadline. Besides the regular staff of Juniors and Seniors, two Sophomores were permitted to be on the staff.
