Movie actress Carla Monroe appeared last night at the premier of her new movie, Miss Guided Missile. Miss Monroe was stunningly dressed in a full-length Marsian Mink coat, a creation of Madame Nancois Case-oux of Paris. Miss Monroe and Miss Caseoux were classmates at Brimfield High School, Brimfield. Illinois, where friends knew them as Carol Meyer and Nancy Casey. Prominent Figures At Indianapolis Speedway Frank L. Kingdon, new owner of the Indianapolis Speedway, today awarded James Teasdale Johnson the Super Atomic Speed Award for a record-breaking speed of 30 M.P.H. in his antiquated 1950 Ford convertible. Jubilee College Reopens September 1, 1975 President Charles F. Kellstadt announced at a faculty conference yesterday, his plans for the reopening of Jubilee College. President Kellstadt stated the appointment of Charles A. Cluskey to the position of Dean of Women. Older residents of Brimfield remember the college site as a favorite picnic area. Liberace Takes Tenth Wife Famed music student of Wesleyan College, Jean Hayes, exchanged marriage vows with Lee Liberace last week. Mrs. Liberace will accompany the vivacious Sharon Stables tomorrow night when Miss Stables appears at the Pottstown Opera House performing her rendition of the Charleston. Freckle Contest Winner Announced Mariella Cox. wealthy owner of the Pork and Beans Chain Stores, disclosed the winner of the national freckle contest to be Mart Maher. Mart, who had the most astounding number of freckles—6381 per square inch—stated that his freckles were a result of working on his father’s farm near Brimfield, Illinois. NAVY ANNOUNCES ADVANCEMENT After twenty years, Seaman Rec-cruit. Edward Duffy has been given an advancement to Seaman Apprentice. Seaman Duffy has just returned from a fifteen-year cruise on Spoon River. He has also served ir. Lower Slobovia and received a good conduct medal upon his return. At the annual award dinner at the Emerick Hotel, Roger Best will be presented a gold drinking cup for his untiring service as water boy for the past season. When told of his achievement, Mr. Best replied, “I believe my success is due to my clean water bucket and fresh well water, which is shipped monthly from my old farm home near Brimfield, Illinois.” News in Invention Within the next several weeks, shoppers will be able to purchase “Allweather Chains,” Dick Hienz, the inventor, stated today. Dick accidentally got the idea when he was in high school. He said some boys teased him about driving his truck in dry weather w'hile it had chains on. Dick thinks he has solved the problem. 48-HOUR OPERATION SUCCESSFUL Dr. J. A. Nauman completed today the longest operation in medical history. Nauman performed successfully the tedious task of removing a splinter from the aged Charles MacCarthy.
