By late afternoon the next day I was in Rome. Rome held many surprises. The first one was Judy Vass, Judy worked for the American Embassy in Rome. Judy arranged a tour of Rome for other visiting Americans and my- self. Among the other transients was attorney Mary Schmidt. Mary is an attorney in Los Angeles, California, She had been planning to run for district attorney but instead she had settled for a position in the Justice Depart- ment. Mary told me that one of the reasons she enjoys her work at the Justice Department is because our former classmate Marianne McCrea is Attorney General of the United States. Judy, not a violent person, is fond of the Wednesday night fights. She told us that Kenny Killer Kermy Starr would be pitted against Mad Dog De Maranjulia at the ' Roman Amphi- theatre. We attended the fight and Killer Kenny won. X as A week latel arrived in Tokyo. While in TokyoI attended a jodo 1' X match. The main events were won by Bob LaCross and Gary Porter. gifs N A No one should ever go to Japan without visiting one of the many tea V Xxx JMX houses that can be found almost everywhere. It was at this kind of establishment that X ,qt I met an- other former classmate, Philip Brabson. Philip was also on vacation. He is J Xyx ' an interior decorator who had come to Japan to study the Japanese decorating technique. A few days later I boarded an ocean liner headed for California, U. S. A. I had lived in San Francisco a few years before I moved to Denver, Colorado. A In Hollywood I reacquainted myself with several well known people. The first person I met was actress Barbara McDonald. Barbara was soon to be seen in Tim Wszeborowski's Caesar and Cleopatra. Tim is one of Hollywood's finest producers. Later Tim told me that Ron Tarr will soon be seen in the Rick Yocum production of Sincere- ly Yours, .93 John Doe. Ron won his fame a few years ago in the Academy Award presenta- tion I yf-'I' of Beowulf, King of the Gears, A trip around the world takes a lot of time, especially if you stop to visit. No matter where fly you go there is no place like home. It was fun but I'm glad it's over. 7' The class of '63 was a great one, Each member went his own way to seek his own particular brand of fame and fortune. It seems to me they did a good job. It is only fair to say that they are typi- cal of the fine outstanding young men and women that Brilliant Memorial High School produces. -- Mozella Bruce XQ! I .
