. 'A .. .ro , 'H c CLASS kiflsgf PROPHE Y Last year I dediced to take an extended vacation, It was difficult to select .. any one place so I decided to take a trip around the world. ik Q My first stop was New York City. In New York quite by accident I met an my old class- mate Burns Puncheon, Burns is now a nationally syndicated columnist for the New York Daily News, U A Later in the day while relaxing in the hotel lobby I saw someone who looked familiar. It seemed impossible but it was Bette Burge. Bette told me that she is a . Professor of Soci- ology at U. A. As Bette and I were recalling our high school days who ' should appear but Ed Bell. ' A ' Ed was also on vacation. He is assistant Dean of Men at Pitt, Bette told us that she had heard that Cynthia Wick and Verda Slivka had started a restau- V rant in Manhattan. We decided to have dinner at their place. Dinner was delicious. Verda ,Hl'VT gave us tickets to the hit Broadway show, Mr, Big, starring Bob Pearce and Val Burge. The show had been running for three years with a packed house. After bidding Bette good-by, I boarded a plane bound for London. To my surprise the stew- ardess was Darlene O'Dell. Darlene informed me that Tom Weatherhead was a pilot and that he had his own field where he gave flying lessons. She also said that Daunna Ford worked as a private secretary for a big execu- tive at United Airlines. Upon arriving in London I immediately took a train to Birmingham where I was to be the house guest of Lady Ashley, the former Sandy Mottle. Sandy and her husband are big-game hunters in India and Africa. Sandy has a lot of leisure time since she hunts only in season. The Ashleys asked me to accompany them to Stratford-on-Avon where Roger Sterling was then portraying Hamlet at the Play House. The performance was magnificent. A few days later I returned to London. The next day I de- cided that I would take in the sights of the city. That afternoon, while watching-the chang- ing of the guard in front of Buckingham Palace, I saw David Verhovec and Rich Ellis. Rich and Dave were in the army and stationed in England. Early the next morning I bade farewell to London.. By noon our plane had landed in Paris. I had lunch at Nichols', a swank restaurant in downtown Paris. Nichols' is owned by Richard Nichols. Linda Liggett serves as hostess for this establishment for the elite. After lunch I decided to go shopping. As I passed shop after shop a sign in one of the windows caught my eye. The sign read Felsoci's Unlimited. I ventured in on a hunch. I was right. Mary Ann Felsoci owned the shop, 39935, Mary Ann told me that Joyce Matthews owned a hat shop on the next street. Sherry smash he world over. Carol and I took in a bullfight the next afternoon. To our astonishment Holman was now a model at the House of Dior. Not wanting to miss a chance of seeing Sherryl attended an open fashion show at Dior's. Sherry told me that Linda Tarr and Nancy Jenkins are Navy nurses stationed in Paris. She also said M that Charlene Fronckel had opened an exclusive salon on the Riviera. My stay in Paris was short but a pleasant one. The ' 1 next stop on my itinerary was Madrid. In Madrid I attended a,lecture given by world renowned or ,dxf rrer authoress Carol Rees, Carol's new book, Last Will and Testament was a sensational the matador was none other than David Bell. On our way back to the hotel Carol saw a sign that read Scott-Kackley Memorial Hospital. We went inside and to our surprise Bill Scott and John Kackley were the hospital administrators. They had built the Scott-Kack- ley to help combat disease in Southern Europe. of V v 4l1,1 . T4 if , 'fum .K ,Y . Q ' 'i c' - O 24
