CLASS LEGEND In the fall of 1958, fifty-two inexperienced and giddy freshmen entered the doors of Brilliant High School with Mr. Walter Kull and Mr. William Sindlinger as co-sponsors of the group. We appreated to be the laughing-stock of the upperclassmen, but, somehow, we managed to cast aside their whispers and giggles. Our first year in high school was filled with bake sales and sock hops, and by the end of the year we had earned a grand total of 35300 for our class treasury, The giddy freshmen were now sophomores. Because Mr. Sindlinger had left Brilliant High School, Mrs. Lucy Bowers became the co-sponsor of our class. Again money-making projects were held. At last, the boys had become more athletic minded! Suddenly, no one could stop us now! We, in too short a time, had become juniors - upperclass- men! This was our big year! Mr, Lucas had replaced Mrs. Bowers as the co-sponsor of our class, and we were ready to go again. The candy room now had become ours and the cash had begun rolling in. In February we sponsored the Sweetheart Dance, Cupid's Paradise, It looked as though we would have enough money to pre- sent the Junior-Senior Prom and Banquet. In May we honored the Class of 1962 at the Junior-Senior Ban quet, and at the Prom held at the Steubenville Country Club, We appropriately named these festivities These Precious Moments. Before the year was over, we had reveived our class rings and we had presented our class play, MY SISTER EILEEN. In September of 1962, we as seniors made our last entrance to B. H. S. It was our hardest step, but we entered with grit and determination. During our last year, we have had cards, invitations, senior pictures, and yearbook work to occupy our time. In December we sponsored the annual Christmas For- mal, The Snow Ball. Our class play, THE MAN WHO CAME TO DINNER, proved to be the talk of the town. Again Mr. Scherich had ably directed our production. The close of our senior year has finally rolled around, and with it, Commencement. With tearful eyes and heavy hearts, we bid farewell to the halls of dear old B.H.S. , to teachers, and our classmates We leave our place to others. Here's to those who follow in our footsteps--may they succeed where we failed, and may graduation not separate us! - Barbara McDonald l .V ,rn -,HV 1-.l1Qi M .
