As we lingered there in childhood, Laughter rang in childish glee. When we grew in height and wisdom, Nature's voice to us spoke low. As we drank in God's great beauty, All the world did thrill us so. Now the future brightly beckons, As we leave our high school years And we ask your thoughts to follow, As we choose our life's careers. - Marie Roe - 4 - , i xii.-Av 4vJk1,+v 4.-Av A1 gAY-6-A i 3' A-i -Liv A-Qi P7 -YAY -r'N wf5f 'V ,f'v + A yA v vv v -v-v- J' SJ' 1 S45 U 5.4- uf sv' 5-FJ

In the year 1980, I, Vivian Burge, decided to visit my hometown of Brilliant, Ohio. While boarding a plane for my journey, I head a familiar voice at the airport. It belonged to Bob Scott, Naval Admiral. Exchanging friendly conversation, the two of us boarded the plane on which we encountered the pilot, Rich Fraley, His beaming smile told us that he and Marie Roe had married. Our trip continued without anything unusual or exciting occuring until lunchtime. It was at that time that the stewardess dropped the dessert on my lap. Bob Scott rose quickly to com- plain. His gruff voice became pleasant when he noticed it was Elaine Roe. Despite my acci- dent I was very pleased to talk to Elaine and to learn that Maxine Bell was also a stewardess for the same airline. Unfavorable weather conditions forced the plane's landing in Washington, D. C, Since Bob was on a secret mission for the Navy he said good-by at the airfield. I spotted a taxi and asked the driver if he could recommend a good hotel. The driver faced me and I was pleased to see Darrell Waderker driving his own cab. He suggested that I stay at the J. Popp Hotel. Upon my arrival at the hotel, I noticed a large poster heralding the nightly appearance of vocalist Penny Sayre and her accompanist Frances Barr. I decided to retire immediately since I intended leaving bright and early the next morning. In the middle of the night I was suddenly awakened by a terrible racket in a nearby apartment. I decided to complain to the occupant of that room, which was 202. I received quite a sur- prise when Harold Cook answered the door. Apologizing for the disturbance, Harold said he and his wife Bertha Kackley were having a little disagreement and from his appearance I gath- ered Bertha was getting the best of the argument despite the fact that Harold was wearing a w n 'lx 1 ' I ffttliioa - Illllllllll ew. .,. When things calmed down, Harold was able to tell me that Jim Sterling and Q Lg Jack Sweeney were members of his Marine outfit. Just then the phone in my apartment began ringing so I said good-bye to Harold and Bertha. Joy Turnbull, having heard from Darrell that I was at the hotel, was calling to tell me that she and Joyce Ruble were working in Washington. We made plans to see each other in the 'gig kg 35 near future. At last I managed to fall asleep. The next morning I continued my trip to Brilliant, Ohio. At the local airport I was greeted by Sandy Jenkins, one of the guides. When I expressed surprise at how large Brilliant had grown, Sandy informed me that I was really behind the times for Brilliant had become one of the largest cities in the state. To be certain that I wouldn't get lost Sandy decided to accom- pany me. Out first point of interest was Brilliant Memorial Hospital. Sandy and I decided to take a bus. While waiting for the bus to arrive we spied a motor cycle driven by someone who looked familiar. The driver waved and we saw that it was Wilda Fair. Getting on the bus Sandy and I discovered that the courteous driver was none other than Earl Richardson. We weren't too surprised, upon reaching the hospital, that Jayne Taylor was the head nurse in Surgery. But we were really astonished when we saw Wilbur Moore in his capacity as intern. Wilbur reported that our classmate Tony Bruce was working the same turn. As we traveled down the hospital corridor, we noticed two young ladies entering the laboratory, We knew at a glance that these two attractive technicians were Nancy Lichtenberger and Aimee Robin- son. Both Aimee and Nancy chatted for a few moments and we discovered that Ron Ross was serving in the Navy. To vary our day's activities Sandy suggested that we attend a wrestling match to see Mike Tamburro, City Champion, defending his title. On our way to the match we passed a dancing studio operated by Pat Brizzoli and Paul Dunn, the Marge and Gower Champions of Brilliant, Ohio. i' 'V I I I 79 V+ I f 32 ,
