One day I was relaxlng In my offxce rn a rare Interlude between conferences and found my mmd engaged 1n thoughts of my gay carefree days rn B H S Then I sand to myself What IS the use of belng a brg shot rn arr travel and not taklng advantage of my opportun1t1es7 The very next day a frrend and I drsembarked from our plane at the Brrllrant Munrclpal Alrport As you w1ll soon frnd out Brnllrant had progressed a lnttle srnce we had left Whlle we were on the plane we met Larry Schupp and Nooky Moffo Llrry was our small but capable pxlot He told us th1t l'e had been 1 Navy pllot He rnformed us that Nooky was the stewardess Th1t drdn t surprlse us 1 bxt because when we were rn hrgh school she was always looknng for excrtement She sald th1t she was stxll srngle that dxdn t surprnse us erther She newer was satrsfred wrth one guy After our long journey we felt 1 lrttle hungry We c1lled a taxr to take us to a restaurant When the taxx arrrved who should be the drlver but Beej Gllchrrst She told us that she was part owner of the Grlchrlst Lumber 1nd Taxr Company We all remembered what a drlver Beej was and I assure you th1t she took us for a very nerve wrackrng rrde Beej told us that Walt Moore was goxng to dr1ve one of her cars rn the Natronal Speed Race wh1ch .vas being held at Brrllunts Debo Race Track When we got to the rest1ur1nt we h1d 1 httle trouble gettmg good servrce I suppose that was because Bob Farr w s the he1d w11ter He told us that even though the servxce sms lousy the food w1s Butler w1s the chref cook md bottle school cafetcru very good Undoubtedly that was because Gene w1sher and th1t he h1d such good traxnrng nn the We went to our rooms to rest before goin slghtscemg I was a llttle annoyed when I found out that our lLIgg'iLS w1s m1ss1ng I c1lled up the manager and com knocked at the door wrth the luggage I was qurte surprxsed I thought surely that he would take Mr Srndllngers pl1ce 1s pr1nc1p1l of Dear Old B H S He told me not to worry 1bout the luggage that lf was only Mr Wolfe paylng us back for the tricks we had played on hrm Verne told us that he owned hrs own detectrve agency and that rt was very successful Smce we vwcre gorng srght seerng we thought we needed a gulde because Brrlhant IS a blg clty now We called up the agency 1nd they CHI rm aros over They sard he was the best gulde they had We were not a but s1t1sf1ed wrth th1s sltuatron but we made the best of lf Frrst he took us to the General Hosprtal We met several of our classmates there No rt wasnt That Krnd of Hosprtal for That Kmd of People Flrst we ran rnto oel Lewrs pacrng up and down rn the fathers wamnv room We saw two nurses trymg to get hrm to stand stxll as he was wearmg a hole rn the rug We found out later that the two nurses were Phylhs Goddard and Dolly Taylor Joyce Russell came out and told oel that Barbara had a 9 pound boy Of course he had to go and pass out oanna urnn and Lee Blackwell had to take hlm to a hospxtal room to recover After an excrtrng day we went back to the hotel to rest for the n1ght tour we had planned That nrght our frrst stop w1s the Br1ll1ant Snazzy Nrght Club Janet Whrte was the star srnger She sang a couple of popular songs and came over to talk to us The rest of the show was comrc The curtam went up and there on the stage were Clarence Taylor Charles Vadas and Lawrence Krrkland Bet you cant guess what they were domg' Yes they were comedrans just as they were ln good old 204 AS Mr Wolfe would say Wont you boys ever grow up' The next day our gurde 1m aros took us for a r1de rn the country He told us that we just had to see New Alexandrms fabulous daxry farm wh1ch was owned and operated by hrs good frrends Gary Whaley john Wetherell and john Renforth I thought that whrle I was there I would get some mrlk to take back wxth me ohn Wetherell told me to go and see Gary Whaley because he had charge of the cows smce he had a lot of experrence mllkrng goats X ' at llll sh ff ,rf fo A 4 ,Y I I ro e 1 . f f Q 3 . ffl c ' K I ' I , V I . . .k , ' x g' e ' .
