k Foreword The class of 1966 would like to say; “Thank you” to our parents for their confidence in us and their assistance to us during our school years. “Thank you” to the teachers at Brighton High School for their constant patience and help to us. Thank you” to the clergy for their guidance in the spiritual and material aspects of our lives. “Thank you” to the community for the educational opportunities offered us. Donna M. Quinn Editor Dedication MICHAEL DAVID STAFFORD Son of Mr. and Mrs. David Stafford October 10, 1947 - September 15, 1965 Whenever hunting and fishing were in the conversation, you can be sure Mike was in the middle of it. He was an avid sports- man and when not working in his father’s store, could be found in the woods or on the ski slopes. Joining our class in his sophomore year, Mike had become a familiar face at Brighton and will always be remembered. Dedication TIMOTHY ALAN SEGUIN Son of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Seguin January 8, 1948 - September 15, 1965 If in the distance you heard someone singing and trying to laugh at the same time, you always knew that Tim was around. Music was one of Tim's main in- terests. He also liked sports that had anything to do wtih boats and water, especially waterskiing. During the summer he spent most of his time at Seymour Lake. Among his other interests were hunting and fishing. Tim was only with our class for the beginning of our last year, but we will never forget his good humor and smiling face. Tribute RICHARD LEE GOULET April 16. 1947 - September 15, 1965 Son of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Goulet Richard was a very happy-go-lucky person. He was always cheerful and seldom did you see him without a smile. Richard loved basketball while in school, and his main hobbies were hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed working in his father’s store. Richard always liked a good time, and we shall never forget his won- derful outlook on life. STANLEY BURTON HARRIS August 16, 1947 - September 15, 1965 Son of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Harris Stan was a quiet sort of guy. He could be very serious one minute, and all of a sudden he was all smiles. Stanley liked to go skiing and skat- ing during the winter and when he was in school, enjoyed basketball. He was intelligent and loved to read. If anyone ever needed someone to talk to or ask for help. Stan was always ready to assist. For these reasons, we shall never forget him. ADMINISTRATION rn jr I MR. R. CURRIER Superintendent MR. C. CONNIE HEGARTY Advisor Basketball has been a new and very re- warding experience for me. I found through it new insights into each boy, and also into myself. Without mentioning any specific names, I would like to thank the team for becoming the unit they developed into. Each boy, I hope, can realize the values of the experience and will utilize these throughout his life. bLr ky'' Cheerleading, 1 feel, is just as import- sKuu$t ant as a basketball or baseball team. The S sL t cheerleaders lend moral support to the teams, especially at away games. yia. pc -' The cheerleaders this year were hard workers and a lot of fun. I think they YKre g f- an asset to Brighton High School and the u. ck A. town. They should be congratulated on the , , j fine job they did. . r LjJ MR. CHARLES HEGARTY Coach I’ve enjoyed coaching Girls Basketball . I think that they've done an excellent job this year, and I hope that the future holds only the best for each and every one of them. I think one of the things that I've ad- mired most about the girls is their good sportsmanship. Thanks for malting this an enjoyable year, and congratulations to all the gradu- ates. MRS. Mr. Clyde Kittredge Janitor Mr. Albert Boutin Janitor Class Poem First is Dicky Barnes, our scoring star in the NEC And no doubt to Gail Davis, a husband he will be. His choice for the future is school or the Marines. He will surely succeed, for he has all the means. Ruth Barnes in town and school activities serves The rewards she receives, she really deserves. Our Student Council president, and basketball star With all of her assets, she will surely go far. Here comes Gayle, carrying on the old tradition With a Worth graduate every year, she's our addition. Her future plan is going to work in Portland, Maine And when Greg is around, you never hear her complain. Joe Riggie is a guy with college on his mind And we are all sure that much success he will find. University of Vermont, is his choice, you see With his fine personality, happy he will always be. Here is Helen Moore, who is well-known to all When it comes to drawing, she is really on the ball. Her hobby is writing letters to all her friends And when we are in need, her help she always lends, Donna Quinn has been busy the whole year through Being yearbook editor, and Future Homemaker, too, A credit to our class, secretarial work is her aim We hope her future will bring nothing but acclaim. Martin McRae has a promising future, we all agree With his trombone playing, a band leader he might be There is no special girl friend for him as yet But you can be sure that a nice wife he will get. Rosalie Boutin, who to everyone is a good friend We all know a fine nurse she will be in the end. When it comes to volunteering, she is always near She was a great help to us during our four years. Next comes Debbie Moffett our little class clown There's never a dull moment when Bug” is around. Although she's small, she has plenty of pep and go When she leaves B.H.S., she'll be missed we know. Greg Frey is a guy who sings with a great voice After graduation, service is his first choice. He enjoys hunting, and other sports in the fall Frog is his nickname and he's well-liked by all. Wanda Barney will travel to Georgia next year In finding a good job, she has nothing to fear. A smile for everyone, and plenty of ambition Best of luck to the girl with the good disposition. Last, is Sharon Lyonf our very latest addition She had really helped our class with her ambition. Always so gay and smiling, and dressed so neat A nicer girl you could never hope to meet. Class History In September of 1962, seventeen anxious freshmen entered Brighton High School hoping they would survive the four years and graduate as the Class of 1966. We elected Donna McBride, president; Ernest DuBois, vice-president; Colleen Cargill, secretary; Donna Quinn, treasurer; and Ruth Barnes, our Student Council representative. Our other classmates were: A. Richard Barnes, Roland Barney, Wanda Barney, Jerry Blake, Monique Boutin, Rosalie Boutin, Mary Griggs, Alan McCormick, Martin McRae, Debbie Moffett, Joe Riggie, and Gayle Worth. After our initiation in October, we settled down to earn money. Besides the usual record hops we sold fruitcake in the fall. The best memory we have of our freshman days is of our advisor, Mrs. Foss. In her last year of teaching at Brighton she faithfully instructed us, but also left time for fun and humor. Our sophomore year found us without Ernest DuBois, Alan McCormick, and Monique Boutin, but we gained Mike Stafford and Ted Caouette from Sacred Heart. Our officers for this year were Martin McRae, president; Gayle Worth, vice-president; Colleen Cargill, secretary; Joe Riggie, treasurer; and Ruth Barnes and Donna McBride, our Student Council representatives. Our advisor was Mrs. Barber. At first we were busy with initiation and decorating for the Sopho- more Hop. We later ordered our class rings which we would receive our junior year. Jerry, Colleen, and Ted left our class before the end of the year. Helen Moore, Lorraine Roy, and Greg Frey joined our class in the junior year and Roland Barney and Mary Griggs left. The following officers were elected: Ruth Barnes, president; Mike Stafford, vice-president; Gayle Worth, treasurer; and Helen Moore, secretary. Ruth Barnes, Donna Quinn, and Joe Riggie were elected to the Student Council. With the help of Mr. House, we participated in the one-act play contest and won first prize. Being in need of more funds we held a foodsale, bottle-and-coathanger drive, and a paper drive during the year. In the spring our time was consumed with planning and decorating for the Junior Prom. We now realize the time and energy it takes to put on a successful prom. As we went up the stairs of Brighton for the last year, our membership had again changed. Lorraine was no longer in our class and Sharon Lyon and Timmy Seguin had joined it. Within the second week of school, on September 15, because of a tragic accident we found ourselves without Timmy and Mike. Left with twelve members we elected Debbie Moffett, president; Sharon Lyon, vice-president; Gayle Worth, treasurer; and Helen Moore, secretary. Donna, Ruth, and Joe continued as our Student Council representatives. Our activities this year included a spaghetti supper, selling sweatshirts, carwash, and a Sadie Hawkins dance. Throughout the year we were busy with the yearbook and graduation preparations. Mrs. Hunt, our advisor, was very helpful to us during our last year at Brighton.
