Text from Pages 1 - 72 of the 1965 volume:

Foreword We, the graduating class of 1965, have had the pleasure and challenge of pub- lishing your 1965 Random Echoes Yearbook. To the teachers, students, and above all, the advertisers, we wish to express our appreciation for making this edition possible. We hope you will treasure this book and share with us some of our fondest memories and past experiences that were part of our school life of Brighton High in 1964-65. Bernice Annis Editor Dedication MRS. HUNT Because you.are our friend . . . encouraging, advising, and contributing your under- standing whenever we need you . . . Because you have guided us enthusiastically and often lent us the strength for success . . . The Senior Class of 1965 of Brighton High School wants you to know that your untiring efforts in their behalf are gratefully appreciated. Tribute In recognition of your many years of hard work here at Brighton High, we wish to express our sincere thanks and appreciation. Your friendly smile and loyal services have made you an unforgettable friend of each and every student. May God Bless You and keep you at Brighton for many years to come. Special Thanks The Class of 1965 would like to extend a special and hearty thank-you to Pop.” We enjoyed his coaching for three years. During that time Pop showed not only his skill as a coach, but also his terrific personality. Our class regards Pop as a personal and special friend. He is always willing to help us and to talk with us. We will never forget Pop. Whenever we think of the good times at Brighton, Pop’s name will always come to mind. We have missed him this year and would like to wish him the best in life. With warmest affection we say, THANK YOU, POP.” GREAT SMOKY MOUNTAINS NATIONAL PARK North Carolina and Tennessee Established 1930 Area: 511, 677 acres FACULTY MR. They have gone to school together for years, and now they are through. They have all had some days that were good and some that were bad. And now about graduating, some feel happy and some feel sad. First comes Bonnie Hutchinsone, a cute, quiet, and smart chick, Who on no one at all, would she ever play a trick. She is always walking or riding in someone's car. She has never been known to drive, but in life she will still get far. Next comes Billy Jones, who has become quite a Romeo. Lately he has a girl with him, every place he chooses to go. If he goes for a walk at night, he usually has one by his side. Now, just get some wheels next, Bill, and you can take them for a ride. Here is Brent Lamoureux, who operates a 57 Chevrolet. He is often seen crowding through all the town's traffic all day. You should be happy now, Brent, because all the snow is gone. And you don't have to worry about those snow banks d6wn at the Head of the Pond. Now comes Marcia McDonald, who is always quiet every place she chooses to go. The only noise she ever makes is that of her piano. Her talents in music and talents in school are really OK. Those talents could lead her to a real successful career some day. Here is Gary Osborne, who has become a Brighton All-Star. But when the games are over, he is usually found with Janet in his car. All kidding aside, he studies hard each day. That is why on his report card you can find many an A. Next comes Timmy Seguin, who is another class clown. Usually, wherever you find him, Jackie is also somewhere around. They sit close together in the restaurant hour by hour. It seems like they stick together, as does a stem to a flower. Here is Carol Blake, who is a real sweet gal. She is easy to get along with, and that makes her everyone's pal. Her appearance is always neat, and her personality is grand. And in school she does real well, especially in typing and shorthand. Now comes Doreen Copp, who will change her name someday. And when it does, it will become Mrs. Niles Gray. We wish her all the good luck in the world. After all we have to, because Niles has himself a real swell girl. And now here is Bradley Crowe, who is anything but quiet. As a matter of fact, you could call him a real riot. Sharon seems to be the only girl to whom he has ever been true. Although he flirts with all the others the whole day through. Next comes Richard Goulet, who is better known as Skinner. He goes to school every morning, but hardly ever wakes up until after dinner. Even though he just makes it, and is probably the last one through the door. He is the first and only one, in the heart and eyes of Helen Moore. Here is Gail Davis, whom to Dickie Barnes is really true. And none of us will be surprised if someday together they both will say HI do. Class Poem continued . . . They are often seen together, both day and night. The only time they aren't seen together is of course when they have a little fight. Now comes Jimmy Worth, who shows much interest in an automobile. And you know he's right in his glory, whenever you see him behind the wheel. Throughout high school his attendance has been just about the best. He hardly ever missed school; so therefore the teachers hardly ever got a rest. Another member of the crew is Barry Worth, also known as Coon. He is built rugged and solid and wouldn't back down for the man and the moon. And when it comes to school work, he does it really well indeed. And in whatever he chooses to do, I am sure he will succeed. Next comes Bernice Annis; whom of the yearbook she is Editor-in-chief. Now that is completed, I imagine for her it is quite a relief. And anyone can tell by that twinkle in her eye, That just the way she looks at Ricky, he is her guy. Here is Janis Caouette who is friendly and active of course. And she surprises no one by being seen out riding a horse. She does well in school, cheering, and majorettes, too. She seems to succeed in everything that she decides to do. Next comes Joe Boylan who is a true friend to all, And last winter he enjoyed playing the game of basketball. In the Spring he fishes, and in the Fall he hunts deer. Yes, he is a real busy guy all through the year. And now to hear about Lois Wing, well here she is. And when it comes to school work, she is a real whiz. For every mark she has gotten she has worked real hard. Yes, she is one of the smartest students ever to cross B. H. S. yard. Here is Maurice Barnes who lives out of town quite far. But that's no problem because he has his scooter and Dad's car. He has never been known to run out of gas on the top of any bump. After all none of us ever would if our Dads had their own gas pump. Now a word about David Wallace, who is always smiling and bright. He worked his whole Senior year at Lamphere's Red White. Whether he will continue to work or not, I do not know. But you can bet he will turn out OK. wherever he does go. Last is Gregory Harris, another real friendly guy. And no one special girl has yet caught his eye. Cookie had him for a while, as did Gayle Worth, But don't anybody worry, the right girl for him is somewhere on earth. Well, that's the end of my story, It I hope you did like. I know I'm no poet, but I did my best, Yours truly, Mike. School Alma Mater Near the old, old pond of Brighton True to higher aims. Stands the venerable old high school Brighton is her name. CHORUS Brighton, Brighton, BHS Leader of men for aye Hold your beacon light on high Guiding us always.
