Upon Fred B. Painter rests the total responsi- bility of administering the educational program in the four Brighton schools. He must carry out the Board's directives as efficiently as possible, and he brings before the Board the numerous desires of parents, teachers and other administrators. ADMINISTRATION QQ' ,ggi ,9- J. DI RECTOR OF INSTR UCTION PRINCIPAL LEONARD B. SMITH Chief executive responsible for the operation of the entire high school program is Principal Leo- nard B. Smith. His duties may be briefly summarized under the following headings: improving educational oppor- tunities, working with people. obtaining and devel- oping personnel, maintaining effective interrela- tionships with the community, and providing and maintaining facilities. -xl SUPEI-ZINTENDENT FRED B. PAINTER Director ol' Instruction, Alice L. Foley, coor- dinates the curriculum of the four Brighton Schools. Thus she. more than any other individual. is the inspiration behind the design for learning. She di- rects the in-service teacher training program and is responsible for the selection of new teachers. To all her duties she brings a vital knowledge and understanding of the students at Brighton. '-33:7
