In English classes students are introduced to a wealth of great litera- ture and gain in both appreciation and tech i l skills. Miss Margaret Young, absent when the depart- ment picture tabovel was taken, discusses a book with her eighth grade group. From eighth to twelfth grade, there is an increased stress on creative use of the rudiments that have been studied: spelling, vocabulary, grammar, and research methods.
