The Math Department offers courses ranging in difficulty from Eighth Year Mathe- matics through Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Engineering Math. Stu- dents especially talented in mathematics may progress through advanced sections of Ninth, Tenth, and Eleventh Year Math to a college-level calculus course for seniors. This advanced placement course, when satisfactorily completed, gives the senior at BHS college credit.

Next year it is planned to offer advanced placement courses in Biology, Chem- istry, and Physics if the registration for them warrants. These courses will be designed to be the equivalent of a first year college course in each of these areas, said Richard Savage, Science Department head at BHS. Many juniors, contem- plating Advanced Biology, took Chemistry this year, swelling classes to almost twice normal size and requiring the addition of Robert Moore to the department. The annual Science Fair was held again this year, and top winners were sent on to the Science Congress at Brockport.
