CLASS HISTORY As Seniors now at the peak of our high school career, it seems a bit strange to find a startling perceptibility and clear- ness of vision in looking down the familiar, sloping path of the past. Far down the clearing vista can be seen a labyrinth- like chaos from which the Class of 1939 was finally evolved. Each individual threaded his way up the ladder of childhood, some destined to branch off and be forgotten by us, and others to be remembered and endeared as one of us. It is interesting to note that in reviewing histories of the preceding Senior Classes, there has been a common pattern of similar feelings experienced by each in turn-all profess to have felt a wide-eyed inferiority tempered with a spirit of de- velopment when but lowly Freshmen, to have honestly at- tempted to raise their scholastic and social ranking when slipping into budding Sophomorismg to have thoroughly enjoyed a full and worthwhile Iunior year, and to have donned the majestic robes of superiority in the Senior year, with not a few apprehensive glances into the future. So, since we also are a normal, healthy, rosy-cheeked Senior class, we find it only fitting to reiterate these traditional words. As usual, our class has had most of its important activities crowded into its Senior year, although a Freshman party, fre- quent Sophomore roller-skating affairs, and the Iunior Prom have been featured previously. This year, the Crossroads of 1939, a card party, the senior ball, and an extensive class day have fallen under the sponsorship of the Seniors. No class can function successfully without a competent group of class oiiicers. ln our estimation we have indeed been fortunate to have had the following students in oificial capacities. 1936 1937 1938 1939 Pres.
