The main objective of the Division of Education is to help prospective teachers toprepare for their careers. Such courses as education, psychology, and health and physical education are offered to the students. These classes are designed so that not only the education major, but every student in school will have the opportunity to gain understanding and new attitudes toward society. Gus services some electronic equipment under the direction of Professor Jeppsen. Bruce operates the automatic drilling machi the machine shop. By stressing practical application to the particular problems in Hawaii, curricula and courses in the Division of Agriculture and Technology are de- signed to serve the professional, vocational, and cultural needs of youth and adults through day and evening courses. In the field of agriculture, courses are offered in animal husbandry, hor- ticulture, and agronomy with special emphasis on their importance in the Hawaiian Islands. Likewise in the field of technology, through the departments of automotive, electronics, rnetalwork, and woodwork and mechanical drawing, courses are offered that lead to the two-year technical diploma which prepares students for successful entrance into industry, and the associate degree which prepares students for further training in upper division college work and graduate work at other institutions.
