BYU has an excellent Microbiology department. For those going into the medical field, it gives a good background no matter what field of medicine you go into, but especially research. Dave Salo The classes give you background on dental techniques and also prepare you for dental school. zoology It ' s one of the top in the nation for pre-dent. They set up Zoology, Chemistry, and Physics classes especially for pre-dent and pre-med to help them get into their professional schools. They ' re interested in how plants are put together. Ecologists deal with how plants relate with each other and how they interact with their environment. Paleobotanists study fossil plants.
