b; The Banyan is the exciting story of young people striving to live life worthily and eternally. It is the story of the students of Brigham Young University — their dedication to higher ideals, their relationship with professors, administrators and with their fellow students. The Banyan is the story of competition — in politics, academics and athletics. And it is the story of growth achieved through these relation- ships. The final story is one of service. It tells how the students, the faculty and the graduates of BYU translate their ideals into action — how they share what they are with the world. Here, then, is the Banyan. 22
