YOU ANTICIPATED VICTORY With a B-R-l-G-H-A-M; with a Y-O-U-N-G; Brigham Young Wildcats! Yea! The crowds cheered and yelled their en- couragements, first at gridiron contests, next at basketball games, then at baseball games. Sideline supporters were at the well-represented wrestling, tennis, and track meets. Sports became the highlight of the year as the con- testants, ranging in rank from Freshmen to Seniors, vied for region and state honors. The young, talented coaches added humor and well-thought out advice along with unreserved incentive. Nick Nelson, an upcoming star, became a tyrant on the basketball floor and Kelly Arnold, an enthusiastic cheerleader. Classroom sports, both boys' and girls', were a source of enlivenment to the participants there. The rough expres- sion found in these activities was not outwardly evident in the graceful movements of the girls, teetering through the halls on dainty spoolies. Excitement, support, victory, defeat, injury and energy were all a part of this phase of life, more like a dream in its reality. It carried a large measure of the spirit that was generated by you.
