McKay was a momentous occasion for members of the yearbook staff and the memory will always be cherished. With love and humility he gave generously of his valuable time. Conversing freely with them he declared, I am always happy when surrounded by young people.‘‘ He related many personal experiences and recalled associations he had enjoyed with some of the grandparents and rela- tives of staff members. He threw out a challenge to them when in quoting the words of the copy editor's great-grand- father, he said, I dislike people with gran- ite fronts and adobe backs. His excellent sense of humor and mag- netic personality were felt throughout the visit. He had a little trouble in opening a bottle of ink. Someone suggested that the
