The boys on the Sophomore team, most ol who were in the ninth grade, played wonderful games against other Soph teams in this region who were usually much older in years and experience ACTION! r 3 Top: The basketball team has thoroughly enjoyed the friendship and cooperation which Claire and Dave have given them through the athletic season. Center: A fast game with Lehi. Stirl Broadhead leaps high in the air to make a beautiful block. Bottom: Another hectic game was fought with Lincoln this year. Over 30 fouls were called on op- posing teams. It was a fast game from the start. After Don Broad- head and Bob Halberslaben were called out on fouls, Lincoln was leading with 9 points and just a few minutes to play. The Wildcats forged ahead to gain 8 more points. The Tigers were stalling the ball with seconds to go as Chuck Craven stole the ball and dribbled down for a beautiful set up, but missed. Vem Whatcott followed lip and put in the win- ning point. 42 ACTION! Here, Burl Bushman, No. 3 makes a successful block. 43 BASEBALL BASEBALL Our baseball games were exciting and fun, but our team sometimes came out on the wrong end. This team is a grand group of fellows who should look forward to a fine athletic future. TENNIS AND TRACK TRACK: Left to Right: Ross Vieweg, Jim Edmunds, Don Macintosh, and Jay Ballil. A small, but plucky group of tracksters, who shine in all events. We were proud of these boys when they en- tered the Invitational Track Meet held at the Y stadium on April 26. Hi History come the Fauvines taking the honor due them in their stride. In new blue and white uni- forms they cheered the 1945-46 Wildcats through thick and thin alike and helped to make the basket- ball team rate. High have the job of keeping the activities of the more ambitious students in hand, in other words, keeping order. Judging by the appearance of the school we can sgy they have done their job well. Under the leadership of their offi- cers the lettermen have turned out some of the best social events of the year . . . among them, their annual letterman dance and initia- tion. The program of the Thespians this year included many excellent activities for the entertainment of other students. One of their greatest and best undertakings was their presentation of a Thespian Night, each Thursday for several weeks, where students presented a generous array of dramatic talent. They also presented their annual play, What a Life”. 67 PLAYS Top: The cast of Don't Feed the Animals, a play produced for the Annual Intermountain Dramatic Fes- tival held here on April —. This riotous comedy receiv- ed honorable mention from the Judges. Middle: The cast for the exciting school production of Seven Keys to Baldpate, a comedy mystery by Geo. M. Cohan. These students deserve just praise, for the production was superb. Below is a scene from the play Seven Keys to Bald- pate. 68 Top: The Committee—Jun- ior Class Officers, and Dance Chairman. Center: Junior Class Prexy Dick Bigelow, and Audrey Olsen led the Promenade midst fantastic settings of surrealistic flowers, toad- stools, and a gigantic spider web, in a land of Fantasia. The Junior Prom was one of the loveliest ever held. Congratulations to a hard working committee who did a wonderful job. 69 70 QUILL AND SCROLL GLEE PHYSICAL EDUCATION CLASS Eleventh and twelfth grade girls have had a grand year in Physical Education, with their varied activities ranging over the three college quarters. As a result the boys have put forth more effort and showed a better coopera- tion for the school activities. Three dances besides the boys day dance, a Day Program and two assemblies (two of the best this year) comprised the social activities of the organization, which has proved very successful.
