Dedication “Singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord.” The expression of music as a form of worship towards God, is one which must be carefully developed and trained. You, Mr. Aikenhead, have offered us that training. Through your patience, the desire has been born within us to worship our Lord and Maker with a song in our hearts and praise upon our lips. Through your sensitivity of expression, we have wept in the rememberance of Christ’s agonies, we have become hushed with the reality of His Presence, we have rejoiced in His might and glory. Never will time erase from our memories the panorama of Christ’s life as the Lord has enabled you to interpret Handel’s Messiah to us. Our hearts truly cry, “Worthy is the Lamb that was slain”. Surely such vibrant worship, depth of spiritual insight, dynamic Christian expression, is the outpouring of a soul in intimate communion with his Lord. We thank God, Mr. Aikenhead, for the song He has placed within your heart. And we thank you, for your willingness to return this gift to the Giver of gifts. Through you, He has taught us Worship. In deep appreciation, The Student Body

FROM THE PRESIDENT’S DESK To Every Purpose—A Time The underlying purposes of God are evident throughout the Bible. History is but an account of how these have been worked out in every age. Joseph discerned the purpose of God in his time. The overrulling presence of God guided him through difficult and complex experiences until he reached the place and position at the very time to accomplish his task. In reflecting upon it he said to his brethren when they pled for forgiveness of their treatment of him earlier in life, “Fear not... But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.” Moses, as crown prince of Egypt, could have reasoned that providence had been good to him. Once on the throne he could use his position to improve the lot of the people of God and make Egypt a fit place for them. “After all,” he could have rationalized, “I have precedent in Joseph.” Instead, he refused the throne because God had another purpose for his time. Moses discerned that the time had come to lead that nation back to Palestine, their God-given land. Daniel, the scholar and statesman, was deported to Babylon. God raised him to a high position in the land of his captivity. There he used his influence until Cyrus, the Persian, issued the proclamation to realease Judah from captivity so that they could return to Palestine and rebuild the temple. God has a definite purpose in mind for each age, as exemplified by the above men. through faithful studies, seeming cross-purpose experiences, and disciplined lives they discovered their main mission and did it. It is for you students to study the Word that you may leam to discern God’s will for your day. Get your vision focused on Christ. Prepare diligently so that when your time comes you will be ready to fulfill His purpose. Mr. and Mrs. Hildebrand display the graciousness much a part of them.
