Briercrest Bible Institute Caronport, Saskatchewan Administration Graduates Undergraduates Music Student Activities Table of Contents Practical Works Dedication Dear Mr. Fender, You are a man loved and respected by each one of us. We appreciate your gentle manner as Dean of Bible school men and would like to thank you for your guidance and assistance as our counsellor and friend. We admire the dedication you show in your position as Director of Admissions. But best of all we love you because in you we can see Jesus Christ lived out. We know that daily you walk with Him, and trust that God will continue to use your life as a testimony to Himself on this campus. We, the student body of 1966, are honored to dedicate our yearbook to you. In Christian love, The Student Body. Total committment to Christ involves get a clear understanding of the word ot the cross and then suDmit tne wnoie of our thinkL gri Sur Lord. This does not mean intellectual mediocrity or dishonesty, reqids ttellectual humility. Before Saul of Tarsus could become Paul the Apost irtrad to go through the eye of the needle. must also submit the whole area of our will to Him. When he had comSjof age, the Maharajah visited Queen Victoria. He requested to see the Koh-i-noor. As he held the ‘his hantis, he knelt at the Queen’s feet and said, Madam, I gave you this jewel 4ras a child, too young to know what I was doing. I want to give it again, in the fullnes! ' of my strength, with all my Heart and affection, and gratitude, now and forever, fully realizing all that I do”. Such wholehearted presentation to Christ is honouring the gospel we confess. Our emotions also belong to Him whohsas loved us. A young graduate student was tracing his observations back through high school and college and concluded: The person who makes out best is one who faces life with just a bit of reserve: he believes the truths of the scripture . . . but not without some questioning; he conforms to the norms of Christian behaviour, but not with complete abandonment; he involves himself in Christian activity, but not wholeheartedly; he always maintains a measure of personal independence”. This may sound sharp, but does not our Lord condemn this in His Word, No man, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God”. but 4 Total involvement includes the committal of our whole personality to Christ; our intellect, volition, and emotion. Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind”. S’?? H. Fenske . H. Edwards G. Goertzen Mr. J. Grymaloski Rev. O. Coward It would seem, in the days in which we live, that the turning from the truth as prophesied in 11 Tim. 4:4 is upon us, and itis well to remember that God is still on the throne and is able to move in the hearts of men and nations. The most impor¬ tant consideration for each of God’s people in regard to this is that they fit into His program as He leads, and to be so found is the sincere desire of this board. Sing unto the Lord, bless his name; shew forth his salvation from day to day. Declare his glory among the heathen, his wonders among all people. For the Lord is great, and greatly to be praised. ” IgideonsI Student Council President’s Message But we have this treasure in earthen vessels that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.” 11 Cor. 4:7 We as ministers of the gospel are weak and frail creatures, and being mortal are soon broken in pieces. It is in this state that God’s power can best be exhibited in and through us. Only as we empty our lives of sin and self, to be filled with God’s fulness, can we be useful vessels. Many students have become vessels fit for the Master’s use through the study of His Word, personal communion with Him, and enriching times of Christian fellowship with fellow students and staff members. We also find that the environmental conditions at school serve as the grindstone upon which many rough edges” in our lives are shaped into His pattern for us, His children. Christ’s teaching in Jn 15:16, Ye have not chosen me but I have chosen you and ordained you that you should go and bring forth fruit”, has caused many to realize this call of God upon their lives, and are obeying this call through the practical work outreach. Being thus moulded and prepared, let us fulfil our responsibility to God. Oh to be but emptier, lowlier, Mean, unnoticed and unknown, And to God a vessel holier, Filled with Christ, and Christ alone. Naught of earth to cloud the glory, Naught of self the light to dim, Telling forth His wondrous story, Emptied to be filled with Him. But you pull only one string. And nobody else can pull more than one! Which makes every co-op member just as important as every other one on election day—when members get to¬ gether to decide what ' s what and who’s who. You see, unlike other privately-owned corporations, only the members have anything to say about the way a co-operative is run. Ownership and control of a co-op¬ erative are based purely on patronage and use, not on the size of an individual member’s investment in stock. The only people who gain anything from a Co-op are those who use it—the people for whom and by whom it was built!
