Espe- cially as you look through these hallowed pages of the 1967 Corona. We hope you will remember the year's past events with only happiness and forget the sadness. If this is achieved then we know we have succeeded in our goal — to make this yearbook a book filled with cherished and wonderful memories. We would like to give an extra big note of appreciation to the following people — Mr. Gray, Connie Browne, and Wendell White Studio for with- out them this yearbook would not be what it is. Editor-in-Chief, Leora Miller Business Manager, Ronald Ward Faculty Advisor, Mr. Craig Gray CORONA 5 DEDICATION With highest esteem and great pride, we the class of 1967 dedicate this yearbook to a teacher who has counselled and guided us all. To some of us he has been a coach, to others of us he has been a Driver Ed. teacher, but to all of us he has been a friend. We are honored and pleased to dedi- cate this 1967 Corona to Mr. Richard Coombs. Principal's Message The record of events and activities pre - sented in this yearbook by you, the class of 1967, will serve as a reminder of the many experiences realized and friendships enjoyed during your fouryears at Bridgton High.May the skills, knowledge and desirable attitudes developed in recent years provide for a fu- ture realization of many of your hopes and dreams. Your future holds many unknowns, many changes, many challenges, and many op- portunities. May you continue to develop the qualities of love, understanding, integ - rity and tolerance which will direct you in a happy and successful life. The faculty joins with me in offering our heartiest congratulations on your forth- coming graduation. My parents had prepared a sheltered place for me, Free from sorrow, trouble, and anxiety. Thus my threads of life were spinning, faster on its way; Weaving dreams and expectations, with the thoughts of yesterday. Now, my dreams have shattered, and Life reveals her face, But I see no fantasy in the strange new place. All I see is Hatred, War, and Poverty, As now Life unfolds her meaninglessness to me. Bette Barker Above I pray that God reserves for me A place to live along with Thee. I hope to gain with faith and love The village in the world above. Today I am Today; I have come to make I'd like a seat along his side With his right hand as my guide. To sit in happiness with him there And be with others in eternal prayer. Yesterday a memory; And Tomorrow a hope. Debbie Kenison 57 Jody Skillin 'The Future I looked down into the pond and saw my reflection. I saw the face of a sixteen-year-old girl; youthful, smiling, and unmarried. In a way I was like this pond, completely untouched. But what was that thunder I heard in the distance? It wasn't real thunder, but a loud, undetermined noise. It was the noise of confusion—confusion in the world. It was the sound of riots and men at war. Later I looked into the same pond again and saw, instead of water, blood. The blood of the world, the result of war and then I saw my reflection. It was changed, too. My face was old, there were wrinkles under my eyes, a pitying sadness around my mouth, and grey streaked in my hair. Was this the pond of the future? Susan Davis Why? Why they had to go, Nobody knows but God. They left us with a short good-by, Why, I do not know. This world is full of many questions, Many which can never be solved This is one which will always linger, But, I guess, nobody knows but God. Death Spoke Death spoke with me yesterday think what you may in what I say. Behold and see as you pass by as you are now so once was I as I am now so must you be prepare for Death and follow me. Neal Graff am Ronnie Peaco 58 Life in a Crystal1 Deep within the cool green halls A feather from a peacock falls and comes to rest upon my hand melting into color that drips onto the sand! Ten thousand swans on silver wings Glide on perfumed breezes of the wind to find a place that's free from hate but the sisters three have cast their fate! One by one the candles dim A harpsichord sings as a sudden whim brings life unto its soundless strings and a melody bursts forth on golden wings To fly on through the cool, green halls And echo on the marble walls in The prism world where if forever calls. Thus is the life in the crystal! Louis Clark Controversy Some ask why, Some say no, Others say yes — But they all must go. They all go, Some wonder why, Some say-who cares- But they all must fight. Some come back, Others must die, And those that are left Have their memories to go by.
