Text from Pages 1 - 120 of the 1966 volume:

I Unlike those yearbooks previous to ours, this one is intended, not to evoke such displays of emotions as to spatter salty tears on these pages, but to preserve the happy occurrences and events of this, our final year at Bridgton High School. Within these hallowed pages are contained photographs and dialogue designed to serve as remembrance of the good times here had by all. With this in mind, we offer you the Corona of 1966. Editor-in-Chief, Susan Dyer Business Manager, Scott Hayward Faculty Advisor, Mr. Craig Gray CORONA Dedica With deep respect and great pride, the class of 1966 dedicates this yearbook to a teacher who has taught and befriended us all. He came to Bridgton with us as we entered as freshmen and has been a great benefit to us as individuals and as a class during our four years here. Without him, our Corona would not have been possible, for it is with his talent and guidance that it is shaped into a book. It is our honor to dedicate this 1966 Corona to Mr. Craig Gray. 2 3 Principal’s Message You will soon be graduated from Bridgton High School. The record of events and activities pre- sented in this yearbook is a reminder of the many experiences realized during the last four years. We hope that most of these experiences have been happy ones and that you have gained the basic knowledge, attitudes, and skills to serve you well in the future. Your future holds many unknowns, many changes, and many challenges. I hope that you willingly accept the obligations and responsibilities that confront you, and that you make an individual con- tribution to a better life for all. May each of you find that place in life that only you can fill. The faculty joins with me in congratulating you upon your past accomplishments and wishing you success and happiness in your future endeavors. We invite you to return often and share your friend- ship and experiences with us. 4 Fred M. Crouse Principal Mrs. R. Hazel Cook French, Latin. U. of Maine, B. A. , M. A. Mr. R. Dick Hebb THE MANSION My parents built a house for me And put a soul inside. But it was floored with prejudice And it was roofed with pride. And in the old foundations The wood is rotting fast The stagnant shell will soon collapse And leave me free at last. Barbara Staley 62 BIG BLOOMER BLUES Those ugly suits of navy blue, Equipped with giant bloomers too, With tops an object of distate, Are small and skimpy, short of waist. The maker must have been obsessed, Or else he just went mad and guessed. For what he thought up, I declare, Looks just like King Kong underwear. Susan Me Donald If I love, And you kill, Which do you think W'ill get his fill? Gregory Crosby THE LIFE OF A CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE Well, I guess that I'll begin at the beginning in case you don’t know about the facts of life of a chocolate chip cookie, yet. My body is made up of 1 cup butter, 3 4 cup brown sugar, 3 4 cup granu- lated sugar, 2 eggs, 1 teaspoon soda, 1 teaspoon vanilla, 2 1 4 cups flour and 1 package of chocolate chips. Then a nice mother measures me, puts me into a large bowl, and mixes me up thoroughly (which, I might add, usually gives me a migraine headache.) I am then separated from the rest of the family and put (of all places to be put) on a cookie sheet. Then Mom bakes me in a 325 degree oven for ten minutes. I don’t mind telling you that it's very hot in there. Well, anyway, after going through all of this, just to be born, that sticky, dirty, little boy over there picked me up (while I wasn't looking) and ate me. So here I am sitting in his slushy stomach filled with all kinds of icky acids for the rest of my life. I wish Mom had added some arsenic to me so I could get back at this creepy boy. But come to think of it, maybe he likes me and I've made a life-long friend. Maybe he'll eat some of my brothers and sisters and they’ll come and join me. With this happy thought I shall now leave you. Ingrid Arnsten D. Macdonald, Co-Capt. ; Mr. Kilborn, Coach; P. Douglass, Co-Capt. ROW 1: G. White, G. Searles, A. Mowatt, E. Marston, S. Dearborn, P.
