You will soon be alumni of Bridgton High School. During the last four years you have realized many experiences in your association with teachers and fellow students. May the attitudes learned, the concepts realized, and the skills developed serve you well in the future. In the crucial struggle being waged today for the minds and souls of men, two rival philosophies exist. One is a philosophy which considers man a slave of the state. The other is a phil- osophy inviting free men to govern themselves. No one knows what the future will bring. However, this I know -- that God planned for man freedom and peace; not serfdom and war. Your future holds many unknowns, many changes, and many challenges. We hope that you have the fundamental knowledge and skill enabling you to face the future with confidence, cour- age, and determination that you will make a contribution to a better world. May each of you find that place in life that only you can fill The faculty join with me in offering our heartiest congratu- lations on your forthcoming graduation.
