- yCl It is with great pleasure that through this dedication we, the Class of 1964, can express to some extent our heartfelt grati- tude for all that Mrs. Cook has done for us in the past four years. Our high esteem for this dedicated teacher is in part due to the sincere friendship which she has extended to us. She is genuinely concerned with the welfare of each of us, and no problem of ours was ever too big or too small to receive her attention. Her advice and council on all matters have always been sound and helpful. In class she has tried to bring out the best in us in our aca- demic work and in our attitudes toward life and other people. Her tremendous school spirit has served to inspire the same in us and to encourage our efforts to help our class and our school. Her support of many of our extracurricular activities , whether sports, music, clubs, or fund - raising, has given us the desire to participate in them and to do our best in them. And thus, we feel that her interest in us and her efforts in our be- half have been very important in enabling us to successfully reach this educational goal in our lives and in encouraging us to set even greater goals for the future; and for these reasons we are dedicating the 1964 CORONA to Mrs. Hazel Cook . 2

You will soon be alumni of Bridgton High School. During the last four years you have realized many experiences in your association with teachers and fellow students. May the attitudes learned, the concepts realized, and the skills developed serve you well in the future. In the crucial struggle being waged today for the minds and souls of men, two rival philosophies exist. One is a philosophy which considers man a slave of the state. The other is a phil- osophy inviting free men to govern themselves. No one knows what the future will bring. However, this I know -- that God planned for man freedom and peace; not serfdom and war. Your future holds many unknowns, many changes, and many challenges. We hope that you have the fundamental knowledge and skill enabling you to face the future with confidence, cour- age, and determination that you will make a contribution to a better world.
