Superintendent's Message You have grown immeasurably since that Wednesday morning in September 1959 when you first entered Bridgton High School. There has been physical growth -- apparent to all, especially coaches, who found you big enough to win a place on the variousteams, and parents, who found you first growing big enough to wear their clothes, then outgrowing them. There has been mental growth -- not always so apparent but noticeable to those who were observing ashyou struggled to meet deadlines for reports and exams and as you took your N.M.S.A., P.S.A.T., S.A.T., and the rest of the alphabetical tests. And finally, there has been a growth in maturity -- an imperceptible change from harum-scarum scatter-brain ideas to an ability to make judgements and con- ceive plans that are viewed with respect by your elders . You have been pre- paring gradually to take your place in the adult world. I have confidence in your ability and faith that you will be able to cope with a world that becomes more complex each day. I lmow you will continue your growth and be a credit to your parents and your school. All of us, teachers, parents, and townspeople, wish you well. I shall miss the friendly wave you have given as you passed my window. Superintendent Chester R . Parker 4

if-liUm 4+ T T ? ii Principal'-5 Message You will soon be graduated from Bridgton High School. The diploma which you will receive at graduation is symbolic of your successful completion of your secondary education. You have realized many experiences during these last four years. We are hopeful that the skills, knowledge, and attitudes gained will serve you well in the future. This is not the end of the educational road for any of you. This is merely one more rung in the ladder of educational progress leading to success and happiness You have only the beginning of a real education. Education never stops. The good work of the world is accomplished principally by people who dedicate them- selves to a distant goal. Weeks, months, years may pass, but success is measured in ultimate achievement not in time spent. Men and women who hope to make a real contribution to life must learn to educate and re-educate them- selves periodically or they are doomed to mediocrity. The faculty joins with me in congratulating you upon your past accomplish- ments and wishing you success and happiness in your future endeavors . As Alumni, we hope that you will return often and share your experiences with us. Fred M. Crouse Principal 5
