0 N A As you look through these pages in the years to come, it is our hope that they will recall fond memo- ries of Bridgton High School. And if they do, our task will be accomplished. THE CORONA STAFF 1 9 6 2 EDITOR-IN-CHIEF . BUSINESS MANAGER FACULTY ADVISOR . . Anne Burkosky . . Gordon Drisko Mr. Clyde Folsom Printed by THE AMERICAN YEARBOOK COMPANY Cambridge, Maryland DEDICATION We, the Class of 1962, with great esteem dedicate our issue of the Corona” to Mr. Clyde Folsom and Mr. Jack Barnes, who have dutifully guided and helped us during our years at Bridgton High School. We are sincerely appreciative and grateful for the effort, interest, and guidance which they have put forth in our many school activities. 2 PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE The record of events presented in this book by you, the Class of 1962, is a re- minder of the many experiences realized during your four years at Bridgton High. We hope that most of these experiences have been happy ones, and that the hopes and dreams of the future will one day be a reality. You will soon be graduated from this school. May the skills, knowledge, and de- sirable attitudes gained by association with teachers and fellow students serve you well in the future. The obligations and responsibilities that you have faced during your high school career will soon seem rather small and insignificant compared to those that you will face in later life. Don't try to run away from them--you cannot do it. You will always be confronted with the responsibility of being happy yourself and being fair with those whose happiness depends upon you. The faculty joins with me in offering our heartiest congratulations on your forth- coming graduation. We wish you success and happiness in finding that place in life that only you can fill. As Alumni, may your loyalty and devotion always remain. You may be assured of our continued interest and faith in each of you. Good luck to you all. 3 FredM. Crouse Principal rt MR. FRED CROUSE. Hall C. Eastman LITERARY The trees sway gently in the wind, A peaceful place to meet my end? The water waits, so deep and cold; I MUST be brave, I MUST be bold! Why live in such a world as this, When ending it could mean such bliss? The time draws near; the darkness lowers, My mind is calm and my spirit soars! The bridge seems familiar to me now As the curtain rises for my final bow. The rail is steady beneath my feet . . . I'll count to ten, and then I'll leap! As the water catches me from my dive, I realize I want to live! NANCY LATHAM The man from the U.S.S.R., Had a smile that was like a star. His teeth shone like pearls They captured the girls. But he cleaned them at night in a jar! PETER MORRIS There once was a man named Tim, Whose feet were so long and so thin, He just couldn't dance, Run, skate, or prance, But skiing came easy to him. LINDA HALL There once was a man named Bunny Who thought that his wife was a honey. He treated her good As any man should, And in gratitude she left with his money. NOE L WATSON EVENING The sun sets slowly, red and gold, Behind the heads of mountains, dark and old. Tree spires stand tall against a dark’ning sky Here in the hills of home as day goes by. The west wind quickens, and the shadows come Like ghosts, from out the forest, one by one. The dying sun turns all the land to gold And then is seen no more, as day grows old. Now darkness steals o'er all the empty fields, And creatures of the night the forest yields. The moon and stars, like pendant jewels on high, Are pearl and diamonds set in velvet sky. These hours, when day surrenders to the night, To me bring quiet joy and rare delight. 32 BECKY COOK B. Lambert, Treasurer; R. Waisanen, President; Mr. Crouse, Advisor; R. Stevens. Vice-President; D.
