DEDICA TION With gratefulness and deep admiration we dedicate our 1964 ALPHA to Lee Harrington, whose amazing energy and fine teaching have certainly inspired all who have come in contact with him. As Dean of Admissions, and more recently Dean of Studies, Mr. Harrington has striven tirelessly to improve Bridgewater. Through his unceasing efforts the college has made remarkable progress in the past four years. Dean Harrington ' s boundless enthusiasm has been contagious to many of us, and as we graduate we carry with us the abiding love and loyalty for Bridgewater instilled in us by this excellent teacher and wise administrator.

FOREWORD Our past four years at Bridgewater have been but a brief period in this fast-moving era of space satellites, rocket ships, and technological giant-steps, but a period which may well have been the most memorable in our lives. We have found ourselves swept along in the current of our rapid-pace times, ever striving to keep step with the latest world developments, ever thinking, questioning, and working lest we fall behind. As members of the teaching profession, parent of all other professions, we have made it our duty to seek the answers to the questions of life in our world today. In the scant space of four years we have learned much. As we have moved forward in knowledge and confidence, Bridgewater has moved with us, challenging and guiding every step of the way. The college population has mushroomed, new buildings have sprouted, and the fields of study have been en- larged to admit aspirants to study in liberal arts as well as education We hope that our journey towards maturity and our search for certainty and the spirit of Bridgewater in action may be con- veyed to the readers of this, the yearbook of the Class of 1964.
