The basic standard and spirit of Bridgewater should remain unchanged, but in all other ways thoughtful innovation and advancement are inevi- table and desirable qualities of progress. We have paralleled this thought as the theme of the 1958 edition of the Alpha. It is the strong desire of the staff that it will serve as a collection of pleas- ant memories of your years at Bridgewater.
