T.. ,sq 'si ff. ,' U W .sii oceer Makes the Grade by After a troublesome start, the soccer team regathered, and continued to gather momentum thru the long season until they were eliminated from the State Championship by tying Clark and then losing in overtime by 4- corner kicks. A not so impressive 9-6-1 record unfairly deletes the teamas quality of three All-County All-Mid- State players Giuseppe Guadagno, Freddy Barberi ffirst stringj, and Chris Dillion fsecond stringj. Under the multitalented coach Mike Leta, the team fell together with Grim, Guadagno, Partin, T. Dillion, Rooney, Natale, Passalotgua, Levitch, Wigs, and S. Wu as front line men. Botta, Rand, Dillion, Barberi, Barbuty, and Zizik as mid-fielders. And as backs we had Zelkowsky, Partin, Mackewitez, Franchino, and Lamaestra with the goalie Antwine. The leading scorers were Guadagno, Paz, and Natale. Looking into the distance at the coming year, West will have a fantastic team with possibly some All-State players Joe? Freddy?
