Rough Season for a Tough Bunch Throughout the 1974 season, the Golden Falcon football team was sparked by the outstanding individual efforts of seniors Steve Diemer, Kevin Tiernan, John Reindel, and ,foe Modzelewski. These players were hard working, dedicated, and helped to keep the team together through all of its trials. The final record of 0-9 does not tell the whole story behind the season. Many losses were very close, including the 8-6 loss to powerful Piscataway. Injuries, suffered by hard-hitting Nick Balough, Dave Zarecki, and Mike Recchia, were also damaging to the team. Although they had a losing season, the Falcons had three candidates to the All-County teams - ,foe Modzelewski, a 5'1l guard, make Second Team Offense, while Kevin Ticrnan, a lincback, and ,fohn Sofia, a defensive back, made Honorable Mention. Coach Farrington has stated that although next yearis team will be very inexperienced, they will have a powerful offensive backfield. Since the prospects for a bigger and stronger team look good, a great improvement over this yearls season is predicted. TOP: Nick Balough takes a rest.
