ROW 1 - Monika Hobelsberger. ROW 2 AP 5 S - Dawn Hennemuth, Patti Vicino, Linda Haines. International Club A.F.S. Students When Patti Vicino spent ten weeks in the Philippines and Dawn I-Iennemuth spent ten weeks in Turkey last summer, they participated in the international exchange of cultures which the American Field Service provides. Having stayed with native families, both students had the opportunity to experience first hand the customs, languages and daily lives of the peo- ples in these countries. This school year, Monika Hobelsberger from Germany, is attending BRHS-East and is living in our community with her host family, the Haines'. She too, is a participant in the Ameri- can Field Service student exchange program. What these three A.F.S. students and all ex- change students bring home with them and what they leave with their host families is a vastly increased understanding of humanity and great insight into different cultures. French Club The French Club is an organization open to all French language students. Some of the an- nual activities include dinners, field trips, Christmas caroling and a bake sale. German Club The purpose of the German Club is to en- lighten students studying German about Ger- many and its people. This year we had a dinner sponsored by the club for all students studying German. Since it was held during the Christmas season, we explained to the students what a German Christmas is like by putting on a skit and singing German Christmas Carols.
