Interlude The Literary Club has always sought to provide an outlet for creative expression. Printing two literary magazines per year, the club seeks to provide the student and faculty with opportunity to broaden the scopes of their knowledge. National Honor Society The purpose of the National Honor Society is to promote the qualities of scholarship, leadership, character and service in the students at B-R East. Membership into this organization is achieved by the recommendations of the faculty. The N.H.S. par- ticipates in an exchange day with other local schools. The high- light of each year is the inductions in the spring in which a can- dlelight ceremony and program are most impressive. Ecology Club The purpose of the Ecology club is to provide the oppor- tunity for students to learn about their environment and participate in activities concerning the environment. The students participate in individual small groups and in community activities. New jersey Chemistry League The purpose of this group is to stimulate interest in Chemistry through competition and exams. Two teams from Bridgewater-East consisting of four members each and representing first year chemistry stu- dents and advanced chemistry students compete every month with students from other schools. Math Team The Math Team's purpose is to promote interest in mathe- matics and friendship among students of similar interests. One Wednesday each month approximately twenty-five schools from Central New Jersey meet and five students from each school compete in a one hour test of ten questions.
