E. .Carnival King and Queen October 27 was the date of our Annual carnival. We feel it was a great success and were well pleased with the proceeds. We had the usual program including a one-act play by the Junior High and a one-act play by some of the High School girls. The Girls Glee Club sang and dramatlzed 'My Merry 0ldsmobile.' The lower grades and Intermediate rooms also participated in the program. The stands and concessions which we had were Ring the Duck, Dart Throw, Novelty Stand, Baseball Pitch, and Basketball. The Home Economics girls also had the Snack Inn where you could get something to eat or drink. Since bingo had been outlawed and we couldn't have that, we solicited and had an auction. Although it couldn't take the place of bingo, we were well pleased and wish to sincerely thank all those who contributed. Tickets were sold on a table and lamp as door prize which was won by Ruth Garslde. Tickets which were sold on King and Queen votes also gave the holder of the lucky ticket a chance on a cute little red and white plush elephant, which was won by Lonnie Scott. Dick Brawdy was voted King and Marlene Kniep as Queen. The grand finale was a dance at the gym. Fred 'Pop' Krlslnger played. It was a grand success with a large crowd enjoying themselves until a rather late hour. During intermission we had a cake auction of some very good and beautiful cakes. We wish to thank everyone who helped make this carnival a success.
