Primary Room Twenty-two pupils, divided evenly between grades one and two, with fourteen boys and eight girls, were assigned to our room for this yeer's work and play. Aside from our regular work for the year our attention has been fixed upon the progress of the construction of our much needed improvement, which had its inception on the minds of and the plans made by the men who were serving the community three years ago as promoters of school aflalrs. we hope tc express our appreciation cy marked effort on our part in our regular work and in demons- trating that we know how to live in our nicer quarters and exercise proper care of them. we are very grateful to the community for their generous approval of the bonds and those who have put much time and effort into the completion of the project which has added so much to our comfort and that of the entire school. We are expecially grateful to our present local Board of .education for our new white oak floor, it is a beauty and a daily delight and a daily delight and was badly needed. The teacher in this GBPBIUMOHU is Mrs. Lillie B. Gibson. Recently we were enabled to acquire some new books for our already generous chlldren's library, among them are a nice copy or The Real Mother Goose illustrated by Blanche Fisher Wright, and splendidly illustrated copies of the life of Abraham Lincoln and of George Wahington. These have lithographic illustrations by the authors Ingri k Edgar d'Auleire and they make the character seem very much alive to little children. Our children had a very minor part ln the Carnival program. Two ot the fl ' rst grade chlldren, Monica McCall and Stevie Frich served as attendants at the coronatlon of the King and Queen, Marlene Kniep and Dick Brawdy. At the Christmas Season each department produced its own program, and our department gave a playlet for their mothers and little brothers and sisters. It was e ti l d ' ' n t e A Tired Mother s Chrlstmas Dream. We also enjoyed a Christmas tree with a happy exchange of gifts. Our attendance through the year has been marvelously good, there being weeks after weeks of perfect attendance and punctuallty which is a rine testim- onial for the mothers who have charge or the little ones. Another matter of note has been the advent of the new playgroune equi- pment which ls a source of deep satisfaction to all the children and especially those of our department. Larry Buckner and Terry Wyllie was absent from school the day this picture was taken.
