6401 The Bulldogs scored a total of 868 polnts for the l9A8 A9 season Our opponents scored 706 polnts Our game average was 39 to our opponents 32 polnts He hit our freethrows extremely well this season as we flnished up with 5162 of them made The high scorers for thls season were Leo Chafa 2L3 points, Dean R 83, Wayne 189, Tom 186, David 123 With the aid of the substitutes guardlng and scoring we secured the 868 points rovember 16 Fontanelle 27 There Bridgewater 2b In the fir t Fame of the l9A8 L9 season the Bridgewater boys tried hard for a victory The score at the half was 13 to 9 in our favor It was t1ed 2L all at the end of regular playing tlme Fontanelle came through 1n the overtlme and scored three points November 19 Zion 27 There Bridgewater 2A Our second game of the season proved a defeat by exactly the same score as our flrst game We played a hard game but Zion succeeded in a victory The halftlme score was 16-15 in our favor November 25 Bridgewater 37 There Richland 12 Our boys easily defeated Richland on their floor No field goals were hit by the opponents the first half The score was 20 l at the half found in this game that we could win if we tried December 3 Massena L1 Here Bridgewater 35 The strong Massena team defeated us on our floor We tried hard and never gave up until the f1nal whistle blew D Pace scored 21 points for tum while our scoring was evenly divided December 10 Bridgewater A6 Here Casey 21 Our boys succeeded in obtaining another victory by defeating Casey At the half it was 22 7 in our favor Chafa was high scorer with 21 points in th1s game December lb Orient 32 There Bridgewater 20 The team got off to a slow start and couIh't seem to gain the lead The opponents had the advantage of their home floor The half score was 10 19 in 0rient's favor. Once again the scoring was evenly divided December 17 Bridgewater 33 Here Fontanelle 22 We chalked up another victory in our favor by defeating Fontanelle on our home floor.The score at the half was 17 to 2 which they obtained on free throws. Fontanelle came back at the half and obtained 20 points. December 21 Greenfield 37 There Bridgewater 32 The Tigers tried hard to beat us. We played a hard and close game. January L Bridgewater L9 Here Lewis 3b Lewis and B'Water were evenly matched throughout the first half of the game Lewis had a very narrow margin of 19 18 at the half We came back more determined to win and succeeded in doing so January 7 Bridgewater L7 Here Cumberland 3b The Cumberland coach was very confident as he started the second team against us at the beginning of the game He soon realized his mistake and put in the stronger team The score at the half was 2b lL 1 our favor We succeeded in keeping the lead throughout the game January ll Bridgewater 39 Here Richland 20 The Bulldogs won another easy victory from the weaker Richland boys We held them to only 3 field goals the first half The halftime was 19 6 to our advantage T McDermott was high point man with 16 points January la Massena 36 There Bridgewater 28 In our second game with Massena they still had the stronger team ur boys played hard and the teams were almost evenly matched with the score at the half 18 lu in their favor We couldn't seem to make as many points as needed the last half February 8 Bridgewater Ll There Zion 32 In our second game with Zion we came out victorious This was the roughest game that the Bulldogs were in all season At the half we lead them 19 10 Everyone played an important part in scoring February ll Bridgewater L6 Here Orient 33 Orient boys were turned back by our Fighting Five Our boys started points Everyone played an important part in the came February 18 Bridgewater 68 There Cumberland 55 Our last game of the season brought us another victory We played our highest scored offensive game this season The halftime score was 28 26 for McDermott and Chafa of Bridgewater each rated 20 points while Schrader was high man for them with 3l points COUNTY TOURNAMENT AT GREENFIELD Brldgewater 33 January 27 Fontanelle 18 In the first round of the County Tournament we drew Fontanelle The Bulldogs played fairly well but had played better ball than this The half time score was 6 15 in our favor Their scoring was evenly divided while Chafa of Bridgewater hit 16 points Greenfield A7 January 29 Bridgewater 33 The second round of the County found us playing the Greenfield team The Bulldogs defense wasn't clicking as usual and the Tigers offensewm perfect At the half they lead 20 ll Chafa was high man for us with 19 points and Stowell for Greenfield with 16 points 5 1 , ' ' n 0 . 0 off well and lead the entire game.
