“NUSIC Our music program for the year was directed by Mrs Shirley Campbell Boys and girls both participated The different groups were the Boys Double Quartet, Girls Glee Club, Boys Chorus, lured Chorus, Sextet and Solos Our first appearance was the Carnival program The Girls Glee Club sang 'My Happiness', and 'Tea Leaves' while the boys sang 'The Whiffenpoof Song' and 'Hair of Gold, Eyes of Blue' Between the acts of the Junior Class Play the mixed chorus sang two Iegro spirituals, 'Go Down, Moses' and 'hobody Knows' The entire school Presented 'Why The Chimes Pang' at Christmas time The cast was as follows Reader 'eo Pechtenbach, Pedro Ronnie Knlep, Little Brother Dick Golz, linister Dean Rechtenbach, Old lan Dean Cass, Rich Man Larry Bauer, Writer Frank Cole, King Tackle Day, Queen Iorma Sinrer, Shep herd Lewis Gipple, Musician Ruth Garside, Old Women Iarle Paul Prichard and Eddie Schrader, Candle Lighters Kay Loore, Flower Girl Sally Campbell Rooms were the church goers The extremely beautiful pageant and we A musical program was held on were Joy Cole singing 'Teach le Leaf Clover', Delores Pfundheller The rest of the Primar High School was the c feel it was very succe larch 8 in the gym T To Pray', Beverly 'yl singing 'I Won't Hav Kniep, Farmers ole and Doris Intermediate This was an o took part ging 'Four rss Jordan Helen Carl, flone', Kathryr Gipnle singing 'Somewhere A Voice Is Cal 1 singing 'In the Garden of Tomorrow', Delores Rucl singirg h1sper1np Pope' Sherry Gipple singirg 'Alice Blue Gown', Barbara Barnhart singing 'Coming Home', and Narilyn Schrader singing 'Sing Ne To Sleep' Wayne Hughes sang 'Bells of tb Dean Rechtenbach sang 'At the End of sang Bless This House' Boys Double and 'Kentucky Babe', Girls Glee Club Chorus sang 'John Peel' and 'Give a Sextet ang 'Cockles and Iussels' On March 12th, the Girls Sextet and all the soloists comoeted other schools at the music conte t in Corning Those who got II were David Camobell, Barbara Barnhart, and Wayne Hughes Those III ratings were Dean Rechtenbach, Sherry Gipple, Kathryn Gipple, Vyllie, Joy Cole, Helen Carl, and Marilyn Schrader IV ratlngs xere Dick Brawdy sang 'Danny Boy' obblestone Road', David Campbell fet sanp 'lwonlrght and Dreams' P f 'I Love a Little Cottage', Boys a Horse Pe Can Ride', and Girls against ratlngs who got Beverly TSCBIV ed by the Sextet and Delores Pfundheller On April 8 and 9 the District Music Contest was held in Avoca The chorus took part in this by singing 'Were You There' and Country Style The Girls Glee Club sang 'The Green Cathedral' and 'Morning Invitation' 'Did Jake treat you to an ice cream soda last evening after the dance' I saw you in the drug store Helen 'Ice cream sodas don't agree with me, so I took some corn plasters instead ' Beverly Mr Golz fwarning his pupils against catching coldl 'I had a little bro ther, seven years old, and one day he took his sled out in the snow H caught pneumonia and three days later he died ' Silence for ten seconds Then a voice from the rear 'Where's his sledq' 'Why haven't you mended the holes in these sockso' Nr Preston demanded 'You didn't buy that fur coat I want- ed,' replied Pts Preston 'So I ng- ured if you didn't give a wrap I d1dn't give a darn Mrs Golz 'What is a peyser Max Hurd 'A waterfall going up ' UA o o . n 4. . o I o v ,-J I T o . , . : ' '44 1 - Q T - - al 1. - n 1 I - -9 -N A - Q I u - 9, - - - I 1 ' 0 ' 0 ' y g lp 5 C ,N . . nv y I , V. 14 , - , 1 .1 - u , Y- 1 A ' , Lf '.
