Our Baseball Team In the past ten years Bridgewater's most successful sport has been baseball. Her team was among the top teams in t.he county last year. This year it looks as if baseball will pay oft again. Bridgewater was in the top all the way through the season last year and was deprived of District Cham- pionship by a game. Back on the team this year will be veteran hurlers Mongold and Garst using their best stuff with t.he backing of sure fielders and good hitters to capture District honors. Behind the plate Hollen, veteran of three previous sea- sons,-will hold down the catching department. Lettermen infielders-Will, Wright, and Dovel will take over their old posi- tions, while jim Hanlon and Walker Marshall will be candidates for first base. The outfield losing three members was harder hit than any other part of the squad. Fielders will probably be made up of Eddie Helquist, Sammy Dovel, Jam- ie Will, Fred Cupp, Vasco Cook, and Glen Thomas. -In power hitting-Hollen, Mongold, and Dovel can be relied on. Clutch hitt- ing willicome from Bobby Will, Owen Wright, Eddie Helquist, and Marshall Garst. New comers Walker Marshall, Sammy Dovel, Jamie Will, Vasco Cook, and Fred Cupp will display their talent in this department. Teams in District M. will hear a lot from Bridgewater in the forth-coming season and Coach Penick is out for anot.her winning team.
