Here is to Joe, the president of our class. It is seldom that one finds so many excellent qualities combined in one person. Besides be- ing president of our class he holds the dis- tinction of having won a place on the debat- ing team for three successive years and of being manager of both basketball and base- ball. He has showed no mean ability in the rigorous sales campaign which he has con- ducted. With this brief review before us, we cannot predict less than a glorious future for Joe. But hold! In the field of social life he holds a place Par Excellence. By his easy speech, easy manner, and jovial disposition he has made some real friends around the campus. He possesses that Never say die spirit that we feel is going to carry him to great success as he enters the medical pro- fession. HELEN FRANCES CLINE, B.A. I WEYERS CAVE, VIRGINIA Major: Science, Education, Modern Languages Pretty to 'walk witlz, - Witty to talk with ' And pleasant to tlzuzk on. This charming lassie comes to us from Weyers Cave, bringing with her an unusual amount of sunshine and smile which have endeared her to many. Helen has carried on her work with conscientiousness and purpose, while to student life and student activities she has contributed much. During her last two years she has served as assistant physical director for women. Her latest endeavor, however, appears to be the development ot a deep, rich bass voice which reminds us of one heard in the college quartette. Helen's capability, willingness to work, and unassuming disposition have so indelibly impressed her acquaintances that she will al- ways hold a large place in their hearts. ' Mary has served as our class treasurer for four years and has served well. During that time she has won for herself a perma- nent place in the hearts of her classmates. She is one of those rare persons who have the ability to be a friend to everyone, and this quality makes her well-liked by all who know her. Mary's specialty is English and she tells us that she is going to bc a teacher. However, we are of the opinion that the vocation of home-making will claim her be- fore very many years have rolled by. XVhat- ever field of life she enters the class of '27 wishes her the greatest of success. fzznior Year: Class Treasurer: Manager Class Basketball: Virginia Lee Society.
