Not only were the seven contestants remarkably talented but so closely approximating each other that it was next to impossible to pick a winner, to say nothing of the next two places. This is quite a distinction for any Junior Class, to say the least, and when the judging was over the medals went as follows: First Prize ------ Jaynet Cullins- - ----- Illusion Second Prize - - - - Arlo Hall- - - - - Green Pastures Third Prize- - - - - -Brian Ketchum- - -Afraid of the Dark To Mrs. Maxell goes the credit for such a wonderful performance by seven distinct individuals. Brad- street, Standing: Mr. Davis, P. Faulkner, B. Foster, J. Sharp, R. Richards, C. Upton, D. Kingsbury S. Burpee, A, DeLong, Mr. Yerxa, Last year's track team, small but mighty, turned the tables of prediction and chance and placed third in the State Track and Field Meet held at Waterville last year. The Bulldogs also copped a first in the Aroostook County Track and Field Meet held at Houlton, overcoming such schools as Fort Fairfield and Houlton. Simultaneously, since the various high schools comprising the Aroostook Central League competed in the County Meet, Bridgewater ran off with first honors in league competition, Charlie Upton, who last year missed first place at the state championships in the discus throw by an inch and one-half should be Bridgewater's heavy point earner and is expected to perform well in the discus throw, shot-put and javelin, Hoyt should place well in the dashes, while DeLong and Bradstreet should earn their share of points in the distance events, Faulkner should be amongst the state's top javelin throwers while David Kingsbury should develop into a fine weight man in terms of the discus and shot-put throw, The team will travel to the state meet at Waterville again this year, Last year the Bulldogs placed third in state competition. First row, left to right: D, Doak, R. Sharp, P. Faulkner, C, Upton, D. Cullins, L. Wilkins, L. Milli ken. Second row: Mr. Harrington, D. Hoyt, D. Kingsbury, W. Faulkner, J. Sharp, Mr,Davis. In looking ahead to this year's baseball team we must also consider last year's record - won six, lost four in league competition. But last year's Harrington men were busily engaged gaining some much needed experience, and this year's diamond Bulldogs should show considerable improvement on the field and at bat. Returning lettermen include Charlie Upton, Phil Faulkner, Darrell Hoyt, Larry Wilkins, and Jimmy Sharpg all of these men were regular starters. The big question this year is who shall do the chucking? Since both regular pitchers of last year's team have graduated, the finger seems to point to Big Phil Faulkner who on occasion did some relief chucking in games past. Irrespective of who plays where, how many won or lost, the Bulldog's unbreakable spirit will continue to dominate the play, Sponsored by DON STACKPOLE - RALPH EVERETT - ROY WHEELER ,- X vp--q-A W C r 0 Q WO- A 'Eze-4 ff lj I ,-.4 E - '35 B W A H, .,f,n1f1z1f1?
