There are only a few veteran players on this year's team. YVilh the intention of organizing a winning team, the girls, coached by Mrs. Schaffer, began practice as early as weather con- ditions permitted. The season's schedule has not yet been completed, however, the teams usually played are Springfield, Hilltown and Holmquist. Scheduled practices are held at the field where sunshine and fresh air do much to foster energy and good playing. flrifty-three

The team was managed and coached by Mrs. Schaffer. Among the stand-outs who shone in the few games against opponents of our size were Vivian Opdycke, Betty Pursell, and Eleanor Hip- pauf. Both the team and coach deserve a well done on their season, played with few practice sessions on an outdoor court. Each game brought out new surprises and plenty of action for all who witnessed the games. qFifry-fOm-5 HW Volley-Ball Intramurals Although the girls dicl not play games with other schools this year, they have played between classes. The first of the three championship games was between the Freshman and Sophomore classes. The Sophomores won the battle. The second game was lmetween the Iunior and Senior girls, where the Seniors claimed the victory. The deciding game followed. A Hght to the finish, sophomores vs. Seniors! Once more, the Seniors boastecl a victory, announcing that they were champions of the tournament. Outstanding players on the Senior team were: Joyce lVlcCollicl4, Betty Conracl, Nlary Lutz, Betty Pursell, Helen Antoni, and Nlarie lwoninghoff.
