Q Y A FUHEUJUHD Probably no other group has contributed so richly to the early American Folk Arts, as the Pennsylvania Dutch. Their love of ornamentation was reflected in their daily lives. Furniture, chests and various utensils were home made and decorated with gaily painted birds, flowers, angels and other character- istic designs. Throughout this hook, the Art Editor has tried to catch the spirit and charm of their designs and por- tray some of the picturesque customs still to be found in the Pennsylvania Dutch Country. Y 5 A
