To our adviser, Beryl T. French, the Class of 1958 dedicates this twenty-first volume of the Baconian, in recognition of the enthusiastic interest with which she has led our class through these long-to-be-re- membered years at Bridgeton High School. A graduate of Beaver College, Mrs. French first came to Bridgeton High School in 19535 as a teacher of history, algebra, and geometry. She rejoined the faculty in 1949 as a member of the English Department. In l951Z she became a teacher of mathematics. She is indeed a versatile person whose time is divided among her duties as a mother and as a teacher and her interests in sports, in church, and community affairs. During the three years that she has served as our sponsor, she has supervised our social activities and academic progressg she has shown us how to complete successfully our class projects and assignments. She has helped us to bridge gracefully the gaps between those carefree sophomore days and those of graduation. She has given us unselfishly and untiringly her time, her effort, and her energy. Her ability and competence as a teacher of mathematics we respect. She has shown these same virtues during the years she has served as our adviser. Her patience and willingness to help all students in her classes mark her as a dedicated member of the teaching profession. Her desire to include her pupils within the circle of her friends and associates indicates her interest in the welfare and progress of each gradu- ate. She shares with us, as with her own teen-age son and daughter, our failures and our successes. Truly Mrs. French has exemplified to us the ideals for which We must always strive. She has made our years at Bridgeton High School a time of purpose, of pleasure, and of progress. Her loyalty and confidence in us have left their imprint. lt is our hope that our achievements in the years after our graduation will in part compensate for the hours she has devoted to our undertakings. Mrs. Beryl T. French, our co-worker, will inscribe her mythical book of treasured memories with only the happy hours, the pleasures, and the successful ventures of the Class of 1958.
