Superintendent Rowland H. Muliord As we part may I call your attention to iust a word. Prepare is the magic word ot lite. It is the open sesame to the storehouse of spiritual and material treasures. You have only begun to use tt, yet it is the very foundation of success. Diligence furnishes it power and vision gives it direction. It is related to the future and it must be a part of your every morning, noon and night. It is positive, active and optimistic and raises you above the little disappointments ot life. It will win you friends and make you the strength of those in need. When life is ended, it opens the very gates of heaven. The Bridgeton Board of Education is composed of five competent and efficient members-members who work indefatigably for the benefit of the students in the Bridgeton schools. Theirs is a time-consuming job. Among their innumerable duties is the responsi- bility of distributing funds for buildings, textbooks, salaries, and repairs, of keeping satisfactory class- room spacep of seeing that our schools have a library, auditorium, gymnasium facilities, cafeteria and guidance program available. Adequate pro- visions must also be made for essential comforts. Sanitation, heating, and proper lighting fall into this category. The standards set by the State Depart- ment of Education and the academic and professional schools to which Bridgeton High School sends its Qraduates are carefully studied by the Board. They must see that we meet these standards at the time of our Graduation. LEFT T0 RIGHT: Mr. Edward P. land H. Mulford. lulwrlnlandant: Each member is appointed by the mayor for a five-year term. Terms expire in January with the member who has had five years' service being re- appointed or replaced by a new member. The most recently appointed member is Mrs. Barbara B. Brauer. The seniors are especially grateful for the tireless efforts of the Board of Education in providing for the betterment of our school. We, the Class of l953, have benefited from the work of the Board during our four years. We wish, therefore, to express our heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Mulford and the members: Mr. Sharp, Mr. Griner, Mr. Martin, Mr. Morvay, and Mrs. Brauer.
