Looking beyond the record of four wins, one tie, and six losses, one is able to realize the effcrt put forth by everyone. The coaches, Miss Louise Coursen and Mrs. Helen Os- troff, should be commended for their unceasing en- deavors to encourage the team to victory. Without the labors of the managers, Peqqy' Travaline and Doris Corson, the hockey maids would have been at a complete loss. The happiest and most exciting moment of the teams experiences this year was their victory over Collingswood. We defeated them for the first time in seven years by a score of six to three. CROSS COUNTRY Since cross country is a very gruelling sport, special praise should be given to Bridgeton High's 1951 squad under the fine supervision of Coach George Shelton. The boys had the tough luck of running against Lower Regionals crack outfit twice in dual meets and once in the South lersey Cham- pionship meet which was held, incidentally, for the second straight year in Bridgeton. Regional came out on top in each of these encounters. The Garnets also ran against Woodbury in two dual meets. The mem- bers of the squad should also be complimented for faithfully attending practice which consisted of running a few miles in cold weather, a difficult feat. CROSS COUNTRY BACK ROW-Coach G.
