Bul' +his is noi' lhe only one of ifs kind ihai' has been consfrucfed, for hundreds of ships have sei' oui' +o sea long before, buf some, unable 'ro buFFe+ +he frequenl' sforms of failure, never reached fheir desfinaiions and only a 'few survivors managed fo swim fo safely. O+hers have sailed on aimlessly and were los+ far beyond fhe disfan+ horizon as if swallowed up by +he sea of cares.
