These are trying days It is impossible to vision what the future may bring As you leave school to assume greater responsibilities of life you need a spirit of deter minatron courage and faith an unshakable faith in yourself in the ideals of our country and most of all a faith in God It you maintain this attitude then individual achievement is certain A new spirit will be born in the nations of the world and peace wlll come You of the class of 1943 are soon to become citizens of a world torn by war and hatred Each one of you will be called to help in some way to bring this conflict to an end It is your brave spirit which makes me sure that right will triumph over might and that a better world society will emerge It has been my honor and pleasure to become your director in the absence of Mr Rowland H Mulford I am thankful for the mutual faith that has been established between class and director. It is my prayer that each oi you will continue to be worthy of faith and, by living it, become an inspiration to others. This is Democracy. 4+ 'r-M . it YQ , is 1 - 30 c , K ... it E Q B' H Q im

' SUPERINTENDENT Graduates: Hold up your heads! Be proud. You are E Americans. Meet the challenge of the world which aviation has made so small. As individuals you face a situation ripe for personal and unselfish opportunity. New frontiers are opening for you. Estab- lish a goal for yourself. Work toward it. Wishing for it will avail you nothing. Pay the price for success with hard work and more education or study. When this dreadful world conflict is ended, we Americans must be tolerant of other people. Everyone of our five hun- dred fifty thousand young men and women who graduate from high schools this month should insist on post-war plan- ning and tolerance. You graduates of Bridgeton High School can and will sacri- fice for others-for a better World. Then you will be appreciating that the freedom of democracy cannot be retained unless you accept the responsibility to others which preserves your freedom. Success, health, and happiness I wish for all of you. Wo it kj THE BOARD OF EDUCATION We present our board members tleft to riqhtl: Percy W. Owen. president: Louis A. Lewis: William H. Meyers: M.
