Girls Basketball The Mini-Scoutettes of 1977 were short in numbers and height. Despite usually play- ing more experienced opponents, they dis- played outstanding desire and efforts. Al- though many times the game was difficult to comprehend, they were attentive to instruc- tions and fast learners. They were a com- petitive group of girls and look forward to a successful future. The girls were led by Joni DeRudder and Maria Marc hiando from the 8th grade, while the other 13 girls on the teams willlretum for Junior High competition. The A team finished with a record of 3 wins, 4 losses and 1 tie. The 'B team had 3 wins and 5 losses. Coach Iverson Half time advice. Bridger's Defense. Back L-R: M. Peters, M. Marchiando, A. Boys Basketball The 1977-1978 season for the Junior boys proved to be successful as both teams combined for a 17-3 record. The 8th grade team finished with 8 wins and 2 losses along with the district champion- ship. It was a very rewarding year as many players got experience and improved in the many basic areas of the game. In each game there were 5-7 players scoring points which was vital to many victories. They had a good attitude about success coming from hard work and they didn't let down in the rough going. The 7th grade team displayed a 9-1 record and grew greatly as the season pro- gressed. They had several players also contributing to their success and were eager to learn the many skills. They are looking forward to the challenge of improving their abilities. I was very pleased with the outcome of the season. Each game was a learning experience for the boys and they were attentive in applying the knowledge to future games. Realization that suc- cess comes from dedication, desire, and effort was illustrated in the boys accomplishments. They possess good potential for continued success in the future. Coach Iverson
