Pul lished b-y Hie SENIORS BRIDCER HICHSCHOOL We, the Seniors of '56, have worked and co-operated with each other in the work for this annual, just as we know we will have to co- operate with our fellow citizens in the future. Through this co-operation we have the sat- isfaction of a good annual, a recording of our high school career, an unforgetable episode of our lives. Consider this your annual. It is for you we have covered the phases of high school with illustrations and words. The success of this annual depends on your enjoyment of it. Sponsored by Dr. Mrs. A. A. Foeste 3 We, the class of '56 dedicate this annual to the people of the Bridger Community who have made our education possible. It is because of the facilities provided us by these people that we can look to the future with optomism and we can only hope that we may well represent our generation as they theirs. 4 SufienutteKdent MY SYMPHONY To live content with small means; to seek elegance rather than luxury, and refinement rather than fashion; to be worthy, not respectable, and wealthy, not rich; to study hard, think quietly, talk gently, act frankly. William Henry Channing MR. ED T. SOMMERFELD MR. GORDON KLUKSDAHL 'PtiKCiftfU The primary concern of American education today is not the development of the appreciation of the good life in young gentlemen born to the purple. Our purpose is to cultivate in the largest number of our future citizens an apprecia- tion both of the responsibilities and the benefits which come to them because they are American and free. James Bryant Conant 5 This year's members of the school board were as follows: PRESIDENT CLERK . . . TRUSTEES P. 7. 4. .....Guy Schwend . . . Olga Campbell ......Art Zinne Dr. A. A. Settvrn. @Ca4A On a bright September morning in 1952, twenty-seven eager and willing freshmen entered Bridger High School. At our first class meeting we elected: Patty Delmonica, president; Jean Parker, vice president; Mary Stiert, secretary; Genevieve Lollar and Leonard Harding, student council. We chose Miss Betty Lang as our class sponsor. After initiation (remembered chiefly for cake coloring) we enjoyed our first high school function, a party sponsored for us by the sophomore class. At the beginning of the sophomore year we lost five of our class- mates and acquired only one. This year we elected Genevieve Lollar, president; Arnold Geiger, vice president; Shirlene Parker, secretary; Patty Delmonica and Bob Sticka, student council members. Our sponsor was Miss Ruby Mitchell. Initiation of the freshmen resulted in many lively and humerous in- cidents. Our junior year proved to be a busy one and we were ably guided by Leonard Harding, president; Bob Lowman, vice president; Donna Bliss, secretary; Shirlene Parker and Arnold Geiger as student council members. New students this year were Marlene Taylor, Linda Peters, and Gene Koch. We chose a comedy, Parents are Like That for our junior play which was directed by Mr. T. Cypher. The success of the play was celebrated by a cast-crew party following the final performance. Our next major project was the Junior-Senior Banquet. By close co-operation, lots of hard work and tactful guidance on the part of Mr. Cypher, we staged a very enjoyable and successful banquet. The Junior Prom immediately following the banquet was the high point of the evening. Class members spent many hours decorating the gymnasium to carry out the theme Deep Purple. Athletically, we were also active, as the Junior Underdogs completed the Intermural Basketball Tournament as champs. At last we were almighty seniors, starting our senior year with twenty-one class members. For a busy year we chose a proven leader, Genevieve Lollar, president; Gene Koch, vice president; Jean Parker, secretary; Patsy Templin and Bob Lowman, for student council. Mr. Werner with a sense of humor and lots of patience served us as class sponsor. Then wedding bells took Cathy Zentner and Uncle Sam put his claim on Bill Lowman. We were entertained in February by the Bridger Woman's Club. A galloping goose banquet was enjoyed by class members and sponsor. A comedy-mystery play The Skeleton Walks was selected for our Senior Play. The Mardi Gras served as a theme for our Senior Ball. Graduation on May 23, 1956, ended our high school career. 16 Setttax Tllill We the Seniors of 1956, being of sound mind, make the following statements as our last will and testament. I, KEN BERRY, will my ability to fall asleep during class to Sharon Gallagher and Ida Graham. I, JUNE BIEBER, will my quiet ways and slim figure to Kitsie Swan and Lorretta Sticka. To the Freshman girls we leave the Sophomore boys--see Mr. Cypher, girls, he can make on equal two. And to the relief of the faculty-we leave! The Juniors were resting together one day happily in the bright sunshine, They were discussing what the seniors would be Fifteen years from the present time.
